The kit isn't advertised to fit the rear, only the front, so we were guessing a little what to use.
Well, the new brackets arrived, I dodged the rain showers and fitted them quickly this morning. The new ones are marked DR12A. Old ones were DR07A.
Chock front wheels, jack up and support rear wheels
Wheels off
Remove brake pad bolt and anti-squeal clip
Spread brake pads and pull them out
Remove the two hex bolts holding the caliper to the bracket, remove the caliper and support it (they are just so light!)
Remove the two bolts holding the old caliper bracket
Fit new caliper bracket and shim washers, torque up to 90nm
and then reverse the above, torqueing up correctly.
They fit fine and the brake pad now covers the whole rotor surface
Ok, so we need a few pics here, I know my forum duties!
New bracket boxes
Old brackets compared with new brackets with part numbers that are stamped on them.
and fitted....
Going for a drive later, about 100 miles round trip to pick up my daughter but rain is forecast all day so will be a steady careful drive if its wet. No hooning
One question, what sort of pad spreader do you guys recommend for these type of brakes? I had an old style one that just about worked ok because the pads were high, but now they are flush I think I would need something else to push them back with.
Thanks for all the advice and help
