re reading this, GREAT job on the install.... ksport need to sort out their order pickers however... your an ideal customer that keeps cool, i wouldnt have been so nice, however i can see these items are of great quality, ask for a smaller carrier then forget about the issues and enjoy an awesome brake setup!! well done!!! and 2400 for all that is a bargain imo.....

We got to the bottom of it. I was sent the non-M3 E46 brackets. The others are on their way...fingers crossed :silence:

Your rear pads will be partly unworn at the rear edge too. Get them to send you a new set of pads too if not a pair of rear rotors too.

Thanks exdos but its ok, I've really hardly done any miles on them yet. I've been away so much recently.

They,ll be fine with tiny miles you've done but if you've done more than 500 miles I'd ask for them to be changed.
Luckily brake pads are ever changing with use so this should be a non issue.

When are you expecting the new part??

I do think a small compensation should be due however, what they got wrong was pretty important... Your an ideal customer as I wouldn't have been to happy.

Should come next week. Well I knew we were in test territory with the rears as they weren't validated on a Z4M. It hasn't caused me lots of problems and as you say, I'm not much of a complainer, I just roll with what life throws at me.

If it had caused me pain or some large cost on my part, that would be a different story.

Maybe I should contract out my complaining to you beedub? :D

im happy to take on that roll!!! i can however say they should advertise the kit if they were unaware of the rear carrier spacings.......
needless to say your a better man than me as this type of error pisses me right off, probably as i dont get much time to work ont he car so when i do, its has to go smoothly!!

look forward to you really giving these brakes the treatment they deserve and coming back to this thread!!

The kit isn't advertised to fit the rear, only the front, so we were guessing a little what to use.

Well, the new brackets arrived, I dodged the rain showers and fitted them quickly this morning. The new ones are marked DR12A. Old ones were DR07A.

Chock front wheels, jack up and support rear wheels
Wheels off
Remove brake pad bolt and anti-squeal clip
Spread brake pads and pull them out
Remove the two hex bolts holding the caliper to the bracket, remove the caliper and support it (they are just so light!)
Remove the two bolts holding the old caliper bracket
Fit new caliper bracket and shim washers, torque up to 90nm
and then reverse the above, torqueing up correctly.

They fit fine and the brake pad now covers the whole rotor surface :)

Ok, so we need a few pics here, I know my forum duties!

and fitted....

Going for a drive later, about 100 miles round trip to pick up my daughter but rain is forecast all day so will be a steady careful drive if its wet. No hooning :(

One question, what sort of pad spreader do you guys recommend for these type of brakes? I had an old style one that just about worked ok because the pads were high, but now they are flush I think I would need something else to push them back with.

Thanks for all the advice and help
