Fitted my 224s today *More pics added p3

Could some one in the know photo shop Dandetons 224's onto my blue Z please.

I'm slowly warming to them but would like to see them on my car first.

Very different from the originals and both look good but the 224's do set it off! Amazing what a difference a set of wheels makes.

Very nice!

224s look great on roadys! Not so good on coupes! Nice one

I agree - funny that. Like CSLs looking ok on a roadster but absolutely perfect on a coupe.

Agreed. I love csls but they look so much better on a coupe than roadster.

I could have gone either way as the price of used 224s is about the same as buying new csl reps. But opted for the 224s as they suit better and like the fact they are genuine bmw.

OEM goodness is always awesome.

Ever since I put my car on 224's I get quite a lot of comments on how nice it is, even my MD said "your car really looks great on now".

  Thanks for that.
Its another option.

It's the best option

Blacken those tyres up, and imagine them a bit wider so filling the arch more and yours will be transformed.

You can see mine in the flesh at Duxford in a few weeks :driving:

Hi All,

Sorry to jack the thread.

Just a quick question, I want to put an Eibach pro kit on my zed with 224s. Should I fit a 35 profile tyre on the 224s or stick with a normal the M size.

Thanks all

P.S. your car looks great Danderton.

Hi Andrew, the advice I have read is that if you do lower then you should go for the lower profile tyres to avoid rubbing. However cannot say from my own experience as mine isn't lowered.

Last weekend I spent 5 hours on a mini detail.

Washed roof - Autoglym fabric hood cleaner and protector kit
Washed car - Turtlewax shampoo (2 bucket method)
Applied a layer of Poorboys black hole
Followed by a layer of Poorboys Natty Wax
Gummi Pfledge round the rubber seals
Autoglym fast glass and glass polish on the windows
Autosol on the tailpipes

Cheers! How is the ride comfort on the m sport suspension? I am thinking of upgrading my normal suspension to m sport suspension and upgrading also the wheels but i am a bit worried that the ride comfort might get a lot worse and i do not want to go for eibachs etc as i don't want my car to be that low.

I'm currently running m profile tyres that came on the wheels and haven't had any rubbing yet.

I did but some part worn pirellis for the fronts in a 40 profile rather than 45. But won't put them on until I've sourced some 35 profile for the rears and do it all at the same time.

I find the ride fine. It's somehow better than when I was on 17s and the car feels much more planted when driving.

I was considering eibachs too but too be honest my side skirts already beach on some road humps so although it would look better I think it would be impractical.

I'm aiming to get aero skirts next and would cry if they got ruined because id spent £400 on lowering it, so for now I'm sticking with M suspension.
