First outing of 2015, just over 1 year's M ownership too

So, I missed the customary '1 year' post. So this'll have to make do instead :) I've been a zed owner for 3.5 years now, of which the latter year has been in the ownership of Zara, the black MC.

I previously owned a very special 3 litre roadster, with phoenix yellow bi-colour interior, two tone 108s, nicely lowered etc etc. I still miss it a bit

Everything changed in Dec 2013 I test drove an ///M. After that it was pointless resisting

As a big roadster fan, it was hard to make the switch to the coupe. But given the legendary status of the coupe, and the rarity, I went for the MC :fuelfire:

I took a trip to Oxford (from Edinburgh) to pick her up. And it was all worth it. Words don't really do the car justice. It looks amazing (IMHO). The wheels and skirts set it off beautifully.

There were a few niggles I had to sort when I bought it. Effectively I asked Eastern BMW in Edinburgh to fix anything they could find wrong with the car. So they did. Since then, it's been faultless, and flew through its MOT shortly afterwards. I am wondering whether the extended insured warranty is worth the upkeep, as I've never used it, and it costs a packet. However, I'll probably be selling the car after my wedding this year, so for the sake of a few months, it's probably worth keeping it going for now.

Anyways, today I took it for its first proper outing of 2015. Dry roads and sunny skies, it would have been rude not to go out for a run :driving: :driving:

Some pics....

There was no one around, so this one required 'DSC Off', revs and a rapid take off

In summary, man I love this car. It's an absolute weapon, and will be very hard to part with if/when I decide to sell.

Hope you enjoyed the read

Made me wish i'd dragged mine out today now :( Had it been sunny here i might well have done so

Super pictures and a lovely looking zed there

I hope you don't have to sell

Great. pics, thanks for sharing them. Love the fourth Coupe photo.

(Would have been a nice day to have had the roof down though....) :poke:

Great read and glad to see you are still enjoying it. These cars certainly get under your skin.
Hope you get out on a few hoons before the dreading day of parting

///M Coupe is no rarer than the equivalent roadster, unless you know how many have been written off. :poke:

If you are getting shot then as you say worth keeping the warranty. Certainly won't hurt come sale time.

@srhutch - it's more the coupe in general that's rarer. i know MR and MC numbers are more or less equal. A coupe is a rarer sight than a roadster though...

@lostboy_84 - on the coupe, yes. My old roady was lowered just a tad

Was a cracking day for it. And despite one new rear tyre, it was surprisingly grippy, and didn't need much scrubbing in 8)

So IF you are loving it so much, why the thoughts to selling it after you get married? Surely your lovely other half won't mind if u keep it, lol.

Been thinking about selling for a while Craig. Right now I need a car I can do the shopping in, park on the street in town, something more comfy for Edinburgh City centre driving etc. None of which the zed does well. The Edinburgh city centre roads are as rough as a badger's arse, not comfortable at all in the zed. SWMBO's Clio soaks them up much better, so much so I always grab her keys if I'm driving in town...

I really want the zed in my wedding pics though 8)

Looks fantastic and what a great day for a run out

Nice to see Number 5 is sharing the abuse about he usually gives me - me thinks he protests too much!! :poke:

Fabulous looking Coupe - even better in real life and great to see you out on the road Adamski.

Hope to catch up on a Scottish hoon this year.

:driving:

Great story, I like the 108s you had on your roadster. Are they black stars or grey?

Shame you have to sell up soon but I understand. MC looks superb

I know what u mean Adam, my wifes Golf and 125i coupe both soak up bumps better than the z, and people funnily enough don't seem to fall in love with their M's as much as they did for those who previously owned the 3.0i as I think the compromises of the M can be a bit tiresome at times.
Hope to see you on a few runs this year if possible, regardless of car/wedding plans etc.

Great write up Adam. I remember you making the switch and you can tell since then you've totally fallen for MC life

Will be a shame to see her go after you're wedding, but she'll go to a good home I'm sure. Maybe by then I'll be tempted again

For Ref:- :D
This guy brings his best mate home, unannounced, for dinner at 6:30pm, after work.
His wife screams her head off while his friend sits open mouthed and listens to the tirade...

"My bloody hair & makeup are not done, the house is a f****** mess, the dishes aren't done.
Can't you see I'm still in my f****** pyjamas and I can't be bothered with cooking tonight!
Why the f*** did you bring him home unannounced you stupid idiot?"

"Because he's thinking of getting married."

The 108s were gunmetal grey with silver rims. The stars had silver flake in them, which made the stars change colour in different lights. Sometimes they looked light grey, sometimes nearly black.

Cheers for all the comments lads :)
