I went to see the new model on Friday and actually couldn't sleep that night, I was in love again. Ordered a new one today. To say I'm exited would be an under statement.
What colour did you go for?

Alpine White, 2.0 Sport, spent the rest on toys like technology pack (HUD, Harman Kardon stereo etc). At my age Msport suspension is no longer an option and 2.0 performance is quite adequate!

Are you the same guy who was on the forum a few years back with a yellow E89? Simon?

Saw one at the local dealer and I think it’s a grower much like my e85 which I didn’t like when they were launched.
It’s seems that a lot of them are this blue, is it a launch colour

Yes Dr John that's me, I loved that car, I changed it for a V12 Vantage S which was also yellow. It was nice to own an Aston but at the end of the day apart from the sound it made it wasn't as good a drive as the Zed4. I now have an X6M but that will be going when I get the new M40i.

Good to see you here, I remember meeting and having a conversation with you at one of the meets near Birmingham a few years ago. Couldn’t forget that Atacama yellow zed!

You might see another yellow one yet. Cooper BMW are trying to get me the new one in Speed Yellow. Just waiting to hear back from the Factory in Austria. If they can it's my 9th yellow car. Don't know what it is I love yellow cars. I've had a a VW Beetle, Saab 93 convertible, BMW M3, VW Golf GTI, Mini Cooper JCW, Zed4 35is, Aston Martin V12 Vantage S, Ford Focus 2.0 TDCi and then the M40i if they can.

Seen this in the skin two days ago, looks terrible in that flat blue and the big featureless black grill makes it look slightly gormless.

I was considering a new one but i will wait till the first facelift and see if it gets any better.

saw one parked up yesterday, looks bigger than i expected and i thought it was a new model 6 series for some reason. The rear is very attractive imo, and defo got a 2nd look from me.

Saw a blue one last night heading into Attleborough. Had to point out what it was to the other half! "Oh", she said, "It's huge! Thought it was a 6-series. Why did they call it a Z4?"
And this from a woman who spent the last 15 years as a composites purchasing manager for Lotus and McLaren, so I'd guess she has some idea what makes a car look good.

Was the first one I'd seen in the flesh too, and I have to say, even in that lovely blue, it did nothing for me at all.
Cannot comment on performance, handling, ride quality or any of that obviously, but to me, a car of this type has to look good, and this looked, from the angle I saw it, like it would be more at home on a canal.

I mistook a new 6 series for a G29 at the dealers earlier today!

The G29 is some 100mm wider and slightly shorter than the E89, I can really feel the extra width in the cabin in mine.

Saw my first one in the metal today, at a distance travelling on the opposite side of a dual carriageway. Its certainly got road presence thats for sure! - eye popping blue (Estoril?), roof down it looked stunning - and big, really big.

Misano Blue. Probably a shade lighter than Estoril Blue. Both are very nice IMO.

Same - only caught sight of one last week on a long trek home (from Harris/Lewis!).

It was black and looked mean. The back looks great but I think the front still looked a bit ponderous, particularly the front 1/4 viewed diagonally where you can see the overhang/slab-sidedness. It's surprisingly big and looked it too. Overall quite good though - much better in the flesh, as a lot of people have said.

Hurts me to say this, but I saw a black/black 40 the other day and I actually quite liked it......really didn't see that one coming :|

Firstly, how to tell if you're old. Fall over in front of a crowd, if they laugh you're young, if they run to help you're old.
I had a 35is back in 2012 and loved it, every minute of it. It's the first time I properly got attached to a car and almost bought it back. I went to see the new model on Friday and actually couldn't sleep that night, I was in love again. Ordered a new one today. To say I'm exited would be an under statement.

I’ve had my G29 for 2 months almost as a replacement for my e89. I do find the negativity on here somewhat puzzling as boy the G29 is light years ahead of the old car and gets looks wherever you go. Yes it’s each to their own but it really is an astonishing car. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine!

Nice to see some love for the car, I think it’s amazing 😍

I went into the dealer the other day to book the 335 for a service and was pounced on!
Mrs K was impressed by the boot capacity - I will have a look at the 40i on Friday but as my 35is is not yet three and has less than 9k its unlikely that I will swap just yet - Just unlikely at this stage!

I'm not sure on colour at the moment, I've narrowed it down to either Speed Yellow or Verde Mantis Green. The car on order is black but it will be getting wrapped on arrival.
