An M40i will be much like a Z4 35is when it comes to holding value..

Or not as the case might be.....Its ugly and not a bone fide M car....

A 718 is the new kid on the block and it totally depends on what you want out of a car.. Whistles and bells or driving experience with manual box, minimal toys and superb handling??

Out of the 2 i would go for 718,not even a contest...

But i wouldnt buy one quite yet... Porsche a reportedly going back to flat 6 in the 718,and the 4 banger is finished,so will see if that pans out..

Personally i cant see many putting money in the M40i.... It will be low volume seller and isnt a ground breaker at anything, and its reception is cool at best.

My prediction is that it will do what the M4 did and shed 50% of its value in 3 years.....

Time will tell..

I’m pretty sure it’s just a new spyder model with a 6 Gaz, the rest of the line up will remain 4 pots.

Went into Porsche next door and had my first sit in a 918 Boxster, and was really impressed. So do I go for a turbo charged 3.0 straight six or a turbo charged 2.0 flat four as there about the same price?

A new Boxster 981 V new G29 z4 are similar price & you are unsure which one to go for :?
It wouldn't even be a question i would need answering by myself let alone asking others but If you are renting ££ per month as opposed to buying it with your hard earned cash then go with the one you would like to drive for 2/3 years then hand back & look for the next experience .
I certainly wouldn't imagine potential G29ers will actually commit their own funds to purchase  that would be plain silly

WOW you are such a patronising and obnoxious individual are you not, please do me the favour and don’t reply to any of my posts in future, your opinion is neither desired or valued.

Someone having a bad day!?
I do hope you need advice in the future and he won’t be allowed to help.

Oooof repeated myself a few times there.... Had some chums round for poker and a few sherbets...(hic)... :drinkwine:

Hehe, yes I did indeed mean the 718, oh I wish I could afford a 918!

So a 718 Boxster in GT Silver, with PDK, Two tone leather, 20" Carrera S wheels, two zone climate, cruise, heated seats, parking sensors, power steering plus and of course BOSE comes to £54,720 -http://www.porsche-code.com/PK512P65

The BMW Z4 M40i comes out slightly cheaper at £51,270 and you get more equipment and it's newer design, but it's not a Porsche

You’ve gotta push a bit more for sport seats plus and adaptive cruise Sars...otherwise nice spec. Seriously the base seats are rubbish, the sport plus ones are on another level.

I don't like adaptive cruise, I find it very frustrating as it keeps taking over and slowing down. The 718 I sat in had standard sports seats and I thought they were quite comfortable, but you don't really know until you've spent some time in them, anyways thanks for the tips

Well it saves you some money anyway..!

Take your point on the seats though, I’m an ex competitive swimmer so have fairly broad shoulders, they’re way to tight for me but if you like them that’s all good.

Are 20" wheels standard on the m40i ?

Yep they are Gaz.

Im gonna have a look at one at weekend and see if they are as ugly in the flesh as they are in the pictures. Not that i would want one either way.

Im going to Wilmslow in the morning for a scoot about ;)

Glasses....check
Aircraft sick bag...check

I won’t half chuckle when you come back saying it’s actually not bad in the flesh...as you ponder shall I shan’t I.... :poke:

I will cut out the suspense...

I shan't..

I still prefer a 35is..... It has everything that you would want in a quick road car.
