Did anyone else spot the Lamborghini with sixspeed’s registration plate? I wonder if that’s his car or if he sold the plate.

Nice colour My local BMW dealer is not getting one until early March but the test drive is booked.

No intention whatsoever of buying one but seeing that they offered it would be rude to refuse.

If it only had a hard top I would be in the front of the queue armed with a cheque book for the one in the picture. As it doesn't will just hang on to my old girl

Was at Soper BMW Lincoln today getting the wife's car serviced on while you wait. Saw 2 new Z4 cars...

White M40i being prepared, and a 2.0 in the showroom. It really does not look like a £50k+ car. Plastic grills on the front look cheap, too much like a 'normal' convertible. Echo other comments - from the front it looks like a Fiat Miata. Interior is luxurious, but just follows the rest of the BMW theme, hence nothing special. Some might like that, but sorry - not for me. Not even interested in a test drive.

If I was putting my new money into another convertible, I would move to a used 6-cyl Porsche Boxster for spirited driving, or more likely the drop dead gorgeous F Type for cruising.

I was at Cooper York today. They had two launch models as well as 4 new 3 series just delivered and not prepped yet.

I didn't like the new Zed based on pictures etc, but like them a lot more in real life.

That rear badge would have to come straight off though.

Just arrived at my dealer in Scotland. M40i in white and 20i in red. Much nicer in real life. Quite a bit wider than I was expecting.

For some reason the G29 looks more palatable in white rather than red, IMHO!

My impressions of the two cars:-

Looking at both cars in real life, I have got to say that the Cerium Grey grill with metal dots looks nicer than the all black grill IMO. However, I think chrome would look the best, but it is not available on the M40i.

The red car with white leather upholstery looked very smart but the light colour leather will be hard to keep. The white car had black leather upholstery and it looked very nice in contrast to the white paint job.

Inside the cabin, both cars looked fabulous. Sheer luxury and very practical with a good driving position.

Overall, the cars were a bit larger than I expected. Noticeably longer and wider than the E89.

I know what you mean. At first I thought the same but it has grown on me and I quite like it now. However, I think the all black grill looks cheap and this is a £500 optional extra??? As I said before, I think a chrome grill suits the car better. Pity that this is not available on the M40i.

Having now seen the cars in the flesh, the appearance from the front is certainly different and will not be to everyone's taste. From the rear I do think the car has a lot of presence and looks very sporty.

Overall, I like the car and I suppose that is all that matters as I have already ordered one.
