Finally I have a 30i

Not seen a dash like that before, it neither has the idrive screen or the storage compartment.

Believe it or not it actually was an option from BMW, a cheaper way to have satnav rather than the full blown iDrive. Not sure if it was from the factory or dealer retrofit but an option none the less.

At last! Hooray. :)

A lovely looking motor you've bagged yourself there.
Of course, given the saga it's been, I fully expect it to start raining now!

Indeed there is another plus point for a whippy! Helps locate your car in a flood. :D

Good Job finding a 3.0 with sport seats. This car will be great fun. 1st mod is updated side markers. Loose the blob lights

As is traditional Mr Silverstar is correct it is BMW option (it’s a Garmin unit) I think only a dealer retrofit though, a clue.... the box was in the boot :D

Thanks Mr Scootr, I assumed your good lady said no to you buying that orange Lambo for me :D By “side markers” do, you mean swapping the clear side indicators for the later silver ones? And you’ll have to enlighten me as to what “blob lights” are

Here you can see my original side marker is a blob of plastic light... and then the 'facelift' versions from ebay fitted.

Gotcha, they look pretty good actually, I assume that’s Ebay in the U.S.?

Anyone sourced these in the U.K, I assume they just pop on and off fairly easily?

You can find them on eBay UK or just get them from your local dealer, I had mine painted Sapphire Black to match the car:

They do pop off and on. I had to use a small square stick to push the front tab back down in the body cavity to release the original. Or maybe the correct method is to lift the rear and slide the light to the rear? I used the stick and they popped off. A flashlight makes all this clear. The black looks great on black Mr. Silverstar  It's obvious black lines matter

Black isn't a color ..... it's a job

Strange but mine stays relatively clean, might be something to do with the ceramic coating. Then again having over 320 sunny days a year also helps.

The dust here is a nightmare half the year the other half is the rain and dew. Never again a black car for me. I pass them by when the come up in my search....

During the dry season after a couple of weeks I do see a bit of dust on the car but provided that it's just dust that can be simply jet washed off at the local car wash facilities, a quick jet wash followed by air blower / dryer and a quick wipe of the door jambs / shuts and its done. takes no more than 15 mins but in general I tend to give it a proper wash every two to four weeks. I have found the ceramic coating tends to repel dust and it takes a far longer time for it to be noticeable then before I had it done.

It also helps if you lower your standards for what clean is  :poke:
Honestly it's been a love hate relationship with the black Mustang

Glad you’re sorted now!
I suggest you keep your eyes out for a Smarttop module,
Get yourself out and enjoy the car
