Finally, finally bought another car

So finally my new purchase was delivered this morning.
2008 E92 Alpina B3 BiTurbo #159. First impressions are excellent. The car is in exceptional condition inside and out. 42,000 miles, one owner, full BM service history and every bit of paperwork, invoices etc since new.
It had a Ctek battery charger in the boot, along with a Stormforce outdoor cover (I was going to buy one today). Another bonus is the RFL is only £280 per year, as it was never given an emissions banding; something to do with such small numbers of cars.

Congratulations, I thought it would never happen!-:) (you buying a car  )

Looks like a suitable car for a man like you, where's the holster for the Uzi?

I see its got an Alpina tweaked N54 engine..I assume in the short term its going to remain stock?

As a daily (or anything else) it must be fab..

Interested to see how it pans out..

Very nice, glad you resisted all temptation to show us any wood :poke:

Hope you enjoy many happy miles in it for the 3/6 months you’ll have it before buying an M6 :P

It's an Alpina Pete. It's not really 'done' to tweak them as far as I can make out. It will hold it's value much better standard aswell. The exhaust note is beautiful, burbles like a V8 on tickover. It doesn't feel like a 3 series to drive, it feels at lot more 'special'. It could just be me as it's new. The steering is bloody heavy, though. It does have over-width tyres on the front (245, should be 235). Not sure if that is it or if it's supposed to be like that, or there's something up.

I would say that there are f&*k all people who know how to tweak Alpina N54 and those that do would probably charge a large fortune to tweak it.

I see its rated at 355 BHP and 500nm so should get down to Tesco's quick enough.

I'd be suprised if 10mm more rubber makes that much difference..they probably weighted it up so you could keep it at a steady 155mph on the autobahns..

Anyway I approve, so you can sleep tight tonight!

Beautiful!

I wouldn't consider modifying an Alpina, I'd probably even learn to live with that wood...

Gorgeous and a great choice 8)

I owned a number of e90’s of different flavours and my D3BT really did feel very different to the standard cars.

Congratulations on the new purchase, you finally got there in the end 😁 and it certainly looks like it was worth the wait and frustration deciding what you wanted. Looks stunning 👍

Great car and well worth the wait. Make sure you keep it shiny! This is great for between the spokes.

No 155mph limiter on the Alps. Top speed rated as 168. I doubt I will ever need to find out :o .
