Well I’ve finally had cruise fitted to my Zed

Blackpool Motors in Lytham St.Annes charged me £118 including VAT to fit :)

I dropped it off this morning and walked into Lytham for a Costa while they fitted it.
Driving back home on the motorway was a pleasure – it’s so simple to use. As I’ve mentioned previously my right leg aches on long journeys so this is a great mod for me.
It will also come in handy for Z4 meets as I can use it on the motorway to get to the rendezvous before the serious driving begins.
Then afterwards I can relax into cruise mode coming home :driving:
 
Top drawer Marlon, good move. I wouldn't buy a car without it these days, as you say on a long run with light traffic on the motorway etc, it's worth its weight in gold. :thumbsup:

They quoted 2 hours Steve, but it took longer. I dropped it off at 8:30am and picked it up at 12:30.
Not sure exactly when they began work on it but it obviously took well over 2 hours. However, they honoured the initial quote.
The guy on reception said its like any job - if they get another in tomorrow it would take half the time.

:thumbsup: Good isn't it ? Good price too, thats about what I paid inc VAT. Not the £268 Dick Lovette BMW of Swindon was asking. :x
 
It is indeed a great option/mod to have. My only issue is it's so similar to the indicator stalk. So sometimes I end up signalling left or right when instead I just wanted to cancel the cruise! :roll:
 
Nice mod - well done :driving:

Wouldn't be without it, especially for keeping the speed down on the many stretches of smart motorway around me and a long section of downhill average speed checks that are soooo easy to abuse
 
Nice one Colin. Good philosophy to use on mway where spirited driving is a bit pointless anyway!

Excellent! Did you go home the long way round on the M55 to test it out? :thumbsup:

Thanks - the wheel has had a 'Royalwheels' refurb :)
The stalk was £95 on its own from Sopers Linconshire

Yep, and been to Lancaster and back on the M6 this afternoon - climbed out of the car tonight as fresh as a daisy.

It certainly makes life much easier on the motorway, especially when there is an average speed limit!

Just had it fitted on my Tiguan for the nice sum of £450.

My Z4 Coupe had it and that was the first time in 20 years of driving that I'd had or used cruise.

Wouldn't be without it now.

I know what you mean; having recently spent a few days driving hire cars with cruise I had to get it fitted in the Zed :) :driving:
