Fifth Gear tonight - Boxster/Z4/RX-8 showdown!

had it sky+ & have to agree with all that was said (apart from picking the mazda as pick of the 3 :? )
"3-0 the only Z to have "
"Z interior just leaves the boxster's for dead "
" they feel like they will go on forever "
"simple classic & elegant "
"phenomenally smooth straight six engine that is possibly THE best engine ever made "

i could have bought a boxster or a RX8 , the Z though is IMO way better than any of its rivals & Gaz :) yours looked great

Strange the third car wasn't the S2000
They only chose it as a 'wildcard', something completely different. Guess they thought the S2000 would have been a bit obvious, but they did struggle to get hold of cars to use as well.

Did we notice the growl from the sound generator with the big sponge removed?

I can also confirm that JP knew where the Sport button was located and already had it switched on before I suggested it to him ;)

which car won? i missed it :(

The tediously annoying Plato picked the mazda , on the basis that it was fast & left him cash to spend over the boxster or Z4 :x
i say you get what you pay for :driving:

Sorry, click on series 9 and 'Jason reviews second hand' :)

Boxsters are such a bargain, i may have to try one for 6 months :D

I was hoping for something a little less facile.
I am not sure why they bothered.
Nice Z4 though.

The porsche was good looking too.

Sorry the flood of interest and posts meant that i posted when there was only 7 replies then it jumped to three pages in space of 10mins

That RX8 did not look good IMO, mainly the lowered numberplate, chrome alloys and silly stickers, not my cup of cha! The Z should've won hands down!

If you thought the running costs were high, she has to replace the chrome alloys at least once a year because the chrome starts peeling off. Think that was her third or fourth set of those she has bought already.

But she has an unnatural love for them and pays up - a little bit like Z4 owners and CSLs :poke:

Not the sort of thing you would expect if you saw the owner either who seemed a little, err, late in life for that sort of thing

I missed the first few minutes but no mention of the fragile motors on the smaller engined booster, did some research on them before getting my zed. :D

Just watched this online Gaz your car looked great a credit to you. And i think Plato was on the mark. Well built great engine up to date styling even after 10 years. And a car you can use every day.
