Ferrari Group B rally bruiser and how it should be driven.

No it was actually for Group B Racing which was a different thing, that never materialized sadly. As was Porsche 959, tho that one actually DID participate in a few paris-dakar-rallies, albeit pretty modified for off road use.

Not a different thing - it was intended for B class rallying but didn't get to compete as Group B was withdrawn before the car was ready to race.
The car in the vid is one of the 200 or so homologation cars required for production before it could be qualified as a group B rally car along with all the peugeout 205's, audi quattro's, lancia delta integrales etc.

Sorry, no it was made for Group B racing not rally. Logical - why would you make a race construction with only RWD for the woods when everybody else was making completely different cars
This racing class was never even materialized, while the rally Group B was terminated in 1987.
Ferrari 288 GTO came in 1984. Go figure. :)

Really not sure which 'racing' series ur referring to?
The 288 and 989 were deemed for the 4000cc+ class of group B rallying in the early 80's.
The lancia 037 and toyota celica were rwd only, in group B rallying....

Edit: deemed for....

Hmm, ok, interesting article. But did any group B 'races' actually take place? If so, they certainly passed me by......
