I've only had my Z4 for about a month now and was visited by one of the girls from the cafe to say someone has hit my car. After a look around with no suspects in sight, I resolved myself to having to pay the $650 excess on my insurance and higher premiums going forward. I called the insurance, lodged the claim and went to BMW to get an estimate, very sad for my poor girls front end.
After getting back to the office there is a knock on the door and one of the young girls from the cafe' was there in tears, she had accidentally driven into it. Her boss had a spare park next to mine and was away so she thought she would save $4 parking at the carpark by using his park. Backing into the park she noticed she was heading towards my car, jumped on the brakes which was actually the accelerator, it was quite a shunt.
She was really upset she didn't come straight forward but she panicked and had felt sick since. She is only 21 with no insurance so the insurance will go after her now and it won't cost me anything, however feel really bad for her now stuck with huge bill. Unfortunately in NZ you don't have to have insurance, stupid law.
Needs new headlight and front bumper, they are going to check the wheel and alignment etc. you can actually see the impact mark on the tire. They say they can fix the bonnet/hood what do you think?
