Fed up... hologramming hell

Hi all,

I posted not so long ago about how chuffed I was to get my car back with the hologramming rectified on it.
Well it's not. So upset right now! I wonder if the dealer used a polish with some filler or something in it, and this has now evapourated in the heat.
The car looked great when I picked it up and there way direct sunlight on it.

Anyway now, 5 days later, the car looks amazing until direct sunlight plays on it's surfaces. Then it goes to s**t. Holograms all over it.

I am sure a good detailer could sort this out. What do you think? Has anyone here had experience of getting these holograms sorted, as the dealer seems unable to rectify it.

By the way, they were worse than this before. The frustrating thing is the car looks amazing until seen in direct sunlight.

Dealers are notoriously bad in these sort of things. Looking at it, it could do with a good claying, polishing and waxing.

Do you think this can cure the hologramming for sure?
The dealer took it back in for 3 days to sort it out for me because I was not prepared to accept the car with these holograms, and it's come back to me like this?
So frustrating!
 
Youve still not got any futher with this then?
Sytners need bloody shooting for the mess they have left that car in, I can vouch for it seeing it first hand.

I felt it was fair to give them every chance to sort this out without me choosing where to go to get the work done.
That way they could somehow blame me if it wasn't rectified.

I got the car back last Thursday after is had been in for 3 days.
Your feedback was essential in helping me fight my corner and not being fobbed off mate.
You are top of my list in who to turn to to get this sorted but I need to take this as far as I can through the dealer.

Getting more feedback on a forum like this only helps me fight my corner to ensure a positive outcome.
Having done tonnes of research I am 99.9% certain is will come out with a finer polish compound, the right pad and much more time and care taken with a polisher.

Out of interest, you mentioned the roof treatment. Would this help it go a shade darker as well as repel the water mate?

Its all down to the correct process with regards to polish and pad variants.
As I said when i popped over they will be using trade grade compunding pads and farecla G3 ( this is a good product in the correct hands )
They never refinih correctly and near on all of main dealers havent a clue of vehicle re-finishing correctly.

As for the roof, it will clean what possible grime will be on it and may change a shade darker but if there are wear issues then you will either need a renovo kit applied including dye and re-proofer or failing that a new roof.

Its making me feel worse every time I see how they left it to be honest, shocking.
 
looks very similar to how mine was when I picked it up from the dealers three years ago, it took time but it's sorted now :D

All my own work though.

That won't go back to 'normal' without a good polish. You'd struggle by hand I think, and it would be better off with a machine polish.

May be an idea to ask the dealership what polishing process and polishes they use seggy.
As said before, each car has £300 dormant for such issues to be rectified so there shouldnt be any issue, they should pay out and get it sorted for you correctly.
Did they sort out the paint issue on the passenger lower wing?
 
Yes and the sticky pads hanging under number plate

I emailed them earlier today to find out what the last polish compound and pads were that created this final finish?
We shall see if I get an answer on that

I suspect whatever they used may have had some kind of filler or additive in it to help reduce the visibility of these holograms at first but this decayed quickly in the hot weather.
This is why I couldn't see them when I picked it up. Just a theory anyway.

Unfortunately, the tricks of the trade mask rather than rectify the faults.

If the use Autosmart products then chances are they have used mirror image which is a filler heavy polish with an amount of cut, the K10 fillers are far better than the kaoline ones in autoglym super resin polish but never the less, fillers wont last, they will always slowly diminish.
By the chalky residdue that was round the seals/trim I am guessing it was AG srp used on the car.

I just hope you get an outcome your happy with, it isnt fair how you are being treated and they are getting away with it.
 
The trouble is, it wouldn't matter if they were using the best product on the Market; if they're doing it wrong, they're probably putting more holograms in than they're taking it out. They may also be doing it right, but if they're using an old or dirty pad, again they'll be putting more in. Get it to someone who knows what they're doing.

x2 Get a good detailer to sort it.
 
I think this is the bottom line of it as above but what has to be appreciated is that sytners handed the car over to seggy like this so they need to be aware of the issue they have caused and should rectify it to how he wants it be it by the guys they use or an outside specialist.
Ive already been over and done the paint assesment including PTG report and quotes but ideally the garage needs to foot the bill as they have caused the issue.
