Sad you had to sell

Well looks like there is one less members car here with the same interior as you Taz - so makes yours even more exclusive!

Well a bit of an update... I chanced the snow and made the 1.5 hour drive to Audi Lincoln... And disappointment doesnt cut it...

I was expecting the TT to be in the garage and covered... As all previous dealer cars i had bought were like this... But it was outside in the snow... Not the end of the world but would have been nice to see it under showroom light not fading evening light.

Agreed to take the minimal £7.5k finance to get 2 years free servicing... Questioned the finance man on the details (as he had skimmed through them initially with no t/c) he then mentioned that there was a £160 agreement fee... Which was not disclosed initially... I said my bank doesnt charge that... His reply is it will take 2 hours to redo the paper work if this has to be adjusted and he has other customers to see!! Said he will throw in a full tank of petrol... So i agree to that (as i we had to be somewhere at 7pm and were running out of time) thought i would just call up and cancel within 14 days and keep my free petrol.

And finally the icing on the cake... The sales guy goes to get the tank of petrol... Came back in 10 mins and said he has to speak to his manager (i thought maybe to approve the petrol) then he pops back out and mentions the dash has come up with a light bulb warning and one of the Xenon bulbs is out!! No technician to fix it so i had two options... Drive it as it is and get my local dealer to look at it - which through unlit country lanes covered in snow wasnt acceptable... or drive my Z4 back home and they will take a look at it and get it delivered to me. Mentioned my insurance is up on my Z4 this sunday... So he checks if they have a spare car available... Which there isnt any.

So running out of time... I drive my Z4 back.... A little disappointed after spending £24k and have the same car! And also realise there is only enough petrol to do 20 miles... And the drive home was 50 miles!!

I have had 3 bmw's in the past... And the quality of customer service from them has been flawless... Audi in particular this jct600 dealer are appalling

Really sorry to hear your woes with Lincoln Audi :( I went in once to try to book our old TTS in for a service because I only live around 11 miles away so its fairly convenient but the service I got just trying to book the service in was woeful so I just walked out and didn't bother and I was pretty annoyed.

So I ended up getting the car serviced at Boston Audi all the time which is 28 miles away and they asked me why I travelled so far when Lincoln Audi is on my door step and I said its because the service is so poor and the funny thing is both Lincoln/Boston Audi are run by the same company yet I never had an issue at Boston but I just got the impression that Lincoln Audi didn't care one bit about the customer.

I was upset because we had paid decent money for a brand new car(purchased from Crewe Audi) yet you get treated like dirt in Lincoln Audi which I just think is very poor form and it saddens me that things don't seem to be getting any better from your experience.

I can see where you are coming from Lee... There were plenty of customer sitting there waiting while the office was full of sales chaps have a joke and laugh :x

Well my car got delivered at lunctime... and my Z4 is finally gone :x

Car was really dirty as it covered the 50 mile in road salt... and I havent driven it yet - except to reverse it onto the driveway. but came with 1/4 tank gone.. so either these are thirsty of the guy gunned it here... there are average camera on the way... so if i get any tickets i know where to go.

The issue was the light control unit... and said the bill would have been £350... pretty poor really for a 2 year old car to have such a fault; but these things happen.

First impressions... its much bigger than the Z on the driveway... and has less storage... as my 2 bags of things dont tuck away as neatly!

And have done my first mod! replaced the interior lights, to LED's (from my Z4!) to match my footwell lights... the plates are already LED's which is nice - although i spent a good 5 minutes trying to work out how to split them to change the bulbs :headbang:

Will get some pics over the weekend!

Pleased you have got it now  looking forward to the photos and I hope it treats you well going forward and you enjoy it. :driving:

It must be a pull on you seeing the zed go with how long you have had it I would imagine.

Hope all goes smoothly from now on with the new TT.
I hate selling cars!
I think I could become a car hoarder if I had more space! :)

Sad to see the zed go mate. Glad you talked me into getting one i have not looked back. Bad play on the Audi dealer not good start when your parting with that sort of money. Hope you enjoy the TT after all this going on and look forward to seeing some pictures.

sorry to hear you have to sell matey, i some times think should have had an E85 M , we have an E89 its stunning , and may have to sell as the breadknife wants an extention, I am dreading it you cannot drive a cooker with the roof down can you for gods sake , she also wants part of the garage  over my dead rotting body , i will not give in troops , trust me , you never know you may get another one aquazi , good luck

Sorry to hear of your woes with Audi, I found them to be really good when I had my TTS. I bought the car from Leeds, it was outside when I arrived but that didn't worry me personally, and the sales staff were all keen to help out. I was only 23 at the time and was expecting them to not take me seriously but they were very courteous to my surprise. I owned the car for just over 2 years and didn't have any major issues with it. I had it serviced at my local dealership in Aylesbury, who again were pretty good (nothing to write home about but also nothing that made me annoyed). I presume based on your comments on luggage space that you've gone for a convertible because I was able to fit my bike, snowboard and various items of furniture in mine! (Not all at the same time!)

I still really miss the TTS, had to sell to buy a house and I've never really bonded with the Z4 in the way I did with the TT. Hopefully it'll only be positive for you from now on, it sounds like you started with all negatives!

It really does... After covering 50 miles yesterday... Just to get used to the new car i still prefer my old Z!!

Especially as it was such a sunny day i would have had the roof down!

sucks to see your car go! at least lets see some pics of the 'replacement'..

The beauty of 'cars-that-are-not-as-good-as-the-last-one' is that you can sell them ;D

Rumour has it, newer Z4's are under 7 years old..

Gave the new car a through clean today, clay bar followed by megs 3 stage.

Sadly ran short of light to go any where nice for pics.. so down the road on the way to get some milk i took some pics!

And the interior has a similar colour combo to my old Z4:
IMG_3608.jpg
With extended leather as standard on the S - around the doors and speedo with matching red stitching throughout - which is a nice touch:

Def more comfy then the Z.. but not as much fun to drive... however the speed and pick up on this is a little surprising... lack or torque doesnt make it feel that fast.. but it effortlessly gets to triple digits.. and is so smooth it has caught me out a couple of times!

Also my favourite feature... the heated seats come back to their previous setting when the car is switched off and on! Its the little things!

And my first mod... changed the interior lights to the LEDS i had in my Z4:

I'll def stick around here for the near future though - i've had way too much fun here just to leave!

Haha... Thats was just stop start traffic for a 2 minute drive up the road.... seems to be a killer on the milage! Will get a proper run to work tomorrow... But doubt the manufacturers claims of averaging 32+mpg are likely!
