Just as a chance to show off our own achievements or that of one of our loved ones for a bit of fun :D

Will be interesting to see what sort of talents, skills, triumphs there are associated to the forum!!

I'll go first. My dad worked in the car industry for most of his early career and ran the project that created the Aston Martin Vantage (pic below). One of the first 200mph cars for sale and i got to go in it when i was a lil'un :D.

My brother graduated from high school at 16 years old. And I bought the 3rd car in my dream car list. 350z 370z and R35. Loving every minute of my 350. :driving:

My family owns the oldest established still family run business in the UK. Established in 1742 N Arnison and sons in Penrith Cumbria is a ladies and gents clothes shop. It is rumoured that in November 1745 Bonnie Prince Charlie on his way south to London in an attempt to regain the throne for the Stuarts he seised the town and had my 5x great grandfather at gun point for a pair of Long Johns lol!

William Wordsworth the lake district poets grandparents also owned the building and used it as a home where William and his sister lived for a period of time.

Place is full of history.

Tom Wlkinshaw is a hero of mine, a great innovator/team owner sadly no longer with us

My late uncle used to work for the German Space Agency building satellites that went up in the Space Shuttle which observed distant stars and planets. He spent six months of the year in Cape Canaveral controlling the satellites he built.

Our son was the fastest swimmer in Cornwall. Now retired, at 22, to become an accountant. :D

My Mom dated Frank Sinatra twice during WW2
He stopped in Newfoundland with the USO Tour on his way to Europe.
He played 2 shows and after he saw her in the line for autographs..
He sent one of his men to ask if she wanted to join him for dinner.
She accompanied him to the Officer's Mess for a banquet with all the Brass.
As she was "just a Corporal" she was denied entrance.
Mr. Sinatra responded
"If this place isn't good enough for my date, it's not good enough for me."
They left and went into St. Johns for dinner .

Tom Walkinshaw, taken at Le Mans circa 1990-ish

Our daughter who was turned down for a vetinerary science degree despite getting all the A levels required and working hard for 3 years "Watching practice" at our local vets. She did her Duke of Ednburgh gold and went on to do a micro biology degree at Edinburgh University followed by a Masters degree. She took herself off to Canada (Vancouver) in 2007 with just a suitcase and an address of an appartment there, knowing not a soul in the city. She's now got her PHd and is a Fellow of the University of Ottawa, she lectures at the university of British Columbia full time. She's recently qualified to teach Yoga which she does part time. You can't keep a good northern lass down!
