I went over a pot hole last weekend and the rear of my drivers window came loose. reading through the posts now it looks like it was probably getting loose for a while and i should have tightened the screw. However, a day or so later the front came out as well and the window is now totally loose. I took the door card off and could see that the the regulator brackets were still moving up and down within the door but the window was not attached to it. I phoned my local dealer and they said they could put the window back in for about 30-45 mins work so it be about £70-£90. I couldn't see how to get the window back in easily so thought i would let them do it. However, they phoned me and said the regulator needs replacing too and the total would be £383. I thought this was a bit steep so went to collect my car and said i would shop around. He charged me £40 for diagnosing the problem and my driver's door has acquired quite a few scratches that i'm pretty sure weren;'t there before but i have no way of prooving that they were done there.
They gave me back a couple of broken parts, which look to be part numbers 10 & 11 from this diagram.

The plastic is snapped and they say he regulator needs to be changed as well. Could this be the case as i don't really trust them? I had the car in last year for some work and when it came back i thought it had gained a couple of scratches and they said the rear tyres needed changing and my thermostat was leaking. I didn't have the work done as i didn't believe it needed doing. This time i was told the rear tyres were ok but gettign low and that there were no leaks or anything else to worry about so i think they were trying to drum up a bit of work last year. It was only a £90 job last year so i think they fancied a bit more but they'll be content with £400 out of me for this job. I think i'm gonna tackle the job myself as don't have much confidence in my local dealer anymore.
So, really what i'm asking is if parts 10 & 11 are broken with the plastic snapped is it likely that the regulator would need to be changed as well? Or can i just change the bracket?
Thanks
