Wow, amazing  . I was wondering whether I dare use my new DA polisher after seeing that scuff. I bet you're well chuffed now :D

DA polishers are idiot proof, even I can use one
It’s rotary ones which need an expert hand :?
Rob

Thanks Rob, in my case they need to be :P

Be careful...if the protective clear is gone you will cut right through the base coat faster than you can imagine! :? A good paint shop can touch up that spot easy...

Just my two cents..sorry that happened! :headbang:

What a mix of emotions in 3 pages

Glad it all sorted, nothing worse than frustration of causing it yourself

Glad to hear it ended well!
I suppose the story is also a cautionary one for all of us (like myself) planning to use a DA machine for the first time ...

I did this to my E85 on the rear bumper my using a DA polisher with the 3" pad too aggressively. Lessen well learned. It burns the paint VERY easily on the plastic parts of the car like the bumpers. Halfords do an excellent touch up kit for £12. Got it looking quite good.

The life and trials of the enthusiast captured among three minutes of text

Did the rest of the car today and she's looking great. No photos as it was dark by the time I'd finished.
