I only purchased my 2011 e89 23i in June. Yesterday I received a letter from BMW stating my 3 year warranty is about to expire and they're asking if I want to renew it for 12 months at a cost of about £620ish for the bells and whistles one. The car has only done 8000 miles and is in daily use. So my question is, is it worth the renewal? Has anyone used a 3rd party warranty company, what was your experience with a claim etc.
I would avoid the BMW warranty like the plague
My Roof pump failed and the warranty people refused to cover because the drain hole were blocked and there was water in cavity flooding the pump
Sounds plausible except when my dealer replaced they found the drain hole clean and clear and no sign of water ever having sat in area and took photos to prove
BMW warranty insisted that the dealer told them the drains were blocked
Impass
except when challenged Dealer principle investigated and then listened to the recording of the call ( yes they
record all calls to BMW warranty with it seems just cause )
and the Claims manager would not accept the information and insisted on rejecting because of blocked drains
Car done 26K always garaged and frankly only used when sun is shining
So they lie and will use any excuse valid or made up to avoid paying out .
I had paid them more than the Bl**** pump cost in premiums .........
Your choice ...
