Guys, advice appreciated
On a tour of Ireland, having a whale of a time in the zed, then the above warning light comes on
Call to mechanic mate and he states if cars running ok and not gobbling fuel it's ok to drive
Car performance is spot on
Found a garage on my travels who checked the codes. It came up with 'catalytic converter'
He asked if it had had a long run.
Yes
Does it normally have short runs?
Yes
He reset the code and said probably Cat sensor having a hissy fit. Don't worry if it comes back on, sort out when you get home
20 miles down the road it's back on again
Car feels fine
Searched this site to death. Consensus seems to be the same - ok to drive
No fault code on mechanics reader just CC. Could this still point to lambda sensor?
2.0 engine on 08 plate with 30k miles
No obvious splits to any hoses
I filled up with fuel in UK, apparently petrol skimming is rife here (according to hotelier)
Please can you put my mind at rest so I can enjoy the rest of my hols
