got annoyed with the forum moderators who were a bunch of knobs, so ditched them for bmw's and havent looked back since

I also found the 'imoc' a bunch of virgins!
If you do something, they have all done it already and better, and if you have a question, well just dont ask if unless you wanted to be patronized :?
If you wasnt on their COMMITTY you didnt get treated with respect which i found really unfriendly or helpful

actually might be closer to 20 but i dont like thinking about it as it makes my head hurt with the amount of time and money i spent :D

yeah i found the same. i think over time, the moderators and committee members have got so far up their own buttocks that they think they rule the world. when it first started, it was an easy going and friendly place but deteriated over the years to the cess pit it is now. both mr2 forums went the same way unfortunately as there was a lot of spill over from one to the other

i find this forum very refreshing in comparison

This was my mr2 T-bar 2.0 ltr ( non turbo ) , loved it to bits , had it for 7 years, with small mods, lowered, sports exhaust, induction kit, 17 inch alloys. small steering wheel.
let it go when it got to 150,000 k, and bills kept coming in,

i visit the Tatton sports car show every year in Knutsford , cheshire and when the car was all the rage back then , made a bee-line for their stand. Fantastic display, mark 1, 2s, and 3,s, but not far away was a display of ferrari's mostly f355,s . . . .. To all mr2 mark 2 owners you probably know where this is going, but this was the first time i had seen f355,s close up, superbly shaped, recognisable in traditional red, looked inside, starred with disbelief, huge grim came over me, thought ' NO FRIGGIN WAY !!!! ' an mr2 interior !!!

Mr2 mrk 2 , with ferrari f355 body kits Taken this year. still going strong, i toyed with the idea of going for it at the latter stages, but my mr2 was piling on the miles, and honestly it was always a hard decision, coz the Mr2 T-bar was a gorgeously shaped car nick named the Baby Ferrari.

There 2 good conversions iv seen alot better, but iv also seen alot lot worse!
I did consider going down this root myself for a short time, but a good kit fitted was about £22k+ using genuine 355 wheels lights and badges.
I worked at a show once which had a real F355 parked up next to a MR2 conversion and visually they where identical (the reall 355 having a slightly lower roof line and slightly wider track). Done right you could have a beautiful car still with 220+ BHP, or you can have a absolute sh1te heap of a chav-mobile.

Just been pointed in the direction of this thread - I too am ex MR2 Mk3 owner, and still a 'cult' member over at MR2ROC. Brilliant car in terms of being like a motorised rollerskate, and I still think they look great. Main reason I decided it was time for a change, is that I needed all year roadster rather than just Summer fun, and something with a few more safety features ! Also, I wanted to consolidate my everyday drive and summer toy into just one car. So here are a few pics of my ex :

Here she is with her optional extras during the World cup

The MR2ROC lot are a fab bunch and quite a few of them like my new zed and are indeed considering the change. I shall leave you with a pic of the meet I organised.

Always wanted one of these, in red - never managed it though... Straight to the Z for my first two seater

i had a red one just like that - only in red, really nice, great car just a bit cramped and tiring on long journeys, not enough seat positions

Had 2 x mr2's. One Rev 3 tubby. Coilovers, 16" enkei's, blitz decat & filter, departure 2 exhust, greddy boost controller, couple of nice apexi gauges...

And a rare TRD VM180 based on the mk3...

Yep- funily enough ive not long posted that pic in another thread. Landed upside down- doors were wedged shut in the 'V' of the ditch so climbed out the back window & started picking peices of car off the road thinking that somehow i could put it back together! :|

Long time ago now. Was a shame as it was so rare but looking back it was a little garish with the big wing etc...tastes change n all that.

An memories!

My first was a red Mk2 Rev 2 - bought as a punt with 2 months mot and 145k on the clock - ran it for 2 years without spending a penny on it other than running costs

Second one was a silver Mk2 Rev 3 Anniversary model, was fantastic car but the tin worm started to be a concern so sadly let it go

Absolute classic cars and great fun.... Pics somewhere will have a look

..Toyota's certainly are reliable!!! There's always the exception but having owned Toyota's for the last 9 yrs or so, ive never had 1 problem.

Is Les still a member on there? (from Hull)?

I went the other way. I decided to get rid of the Zed and go back to cheap(er) simple motoring. I find the MR2 a much better drive than the Zed.

Here is mine....

Mk2 rev5 in mica orange - which I have never seen another one in this colour. :D. Its completely standard as well :).

mmm...
i remember the toyota launch. donington, feb 1985
didnt have one myself for a few years but was fantastic in original guise. spoiled when they put the bodykit on fairly early on (imo) but still turned heads.used one very regularly and eventually purchaced a white over silver T bar. sold it next day for a substantial profit. I actually prefered the Corolla RWD twin cam
