Ex-Missus got my keys

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
going to be difficult to prove ownership methinks if you were married ........
everything is joint ownership and she can claim its just as much hers as it is yours ......

as an experienced divorcee ....... lol ....... I can advise that you will get nowhere with aggression ......

I sat down with one of my ex's once and had a wee talk ......I convinced her that if she wanted me to be friendly and be available to help her out in the future, she would have to do the same ....... and I got my 3 series back.

best of luck ......

The plastic 'valet' key will open and start the car as it too has a transponder for the immobiliser embedded in it.

Is that right. When I used it to open the door the alarm went off!

I've tried my plastic key. The alarm goes off when you use it to unlock the car but the alarm
goes off when you use it to start the car. Never got that far before. I suppose it's useful in an emergency.

That's good! Will make for an interesting getaway when the OP's ex goes to check the cars alarm only so to see him driving it off into the sunset

Good luck to the OP

Wow....

Spiteful

Get a new v5 and set of keys if you can.
Then try and be the good guy in the whole process.

Squeaky bum time.

I thought common law marriages didn't exist.

Sorry to hear of the situation David. How's the cooking situation coming along?

My understanding is if either party can proved they made either a financial or other major contributing factor such as bringing up kids etc then being married makes no difference. There are two choices when buying property though, tenants in law and tenants in common from memory, making a huge difference in which one you go for.

The fact we've been together 24 years I think. My solicitor was talking about whether one or the other has made a more significant contribution etc but it gets really complicated.
Cooking's not too bad Ruby. Still mainly baked beans eggs and toast. Can't say I've had my five a day for a while. (Not my oats unfortunately :P )

Yes exactly right. My sols has advised to change the deeds to tennants in common to ring fence my half. Simple case of either both signing land registry form or me signing and serving notice on her.

Yes she did join just to keep an eye on what was going on. I think her name was 'tosser' quite apt really

This sounds familiar...except mine has kept the v5 and service book...but once my engine explodes it'll be worth nothing anyway I guess

I did order a new v5 straight away though...service book is prob long gone tho

I was with my first wife for 16 years & living together for 14 before we got married....... 3 month's later she had an affair!!! Cost ME £70k
(That was 9 years ago!). She never took my keys, log book or anything before I threw her out and changed the locks! :voodoo:

Looking back was the best £70k I spent!
