:trampoline: Woots, we need some full throttle 5000+ rpm drive by videos

Lol I have no friends here who would be willing to record it

I'll be in your neck of the woods getting my oil service next week. I'll do it, might be a good way to kill time while I'm waiting. :D

I'll keep you updated rubes, not sure if I'm staying on base next weekend tho :/

Hey Woots, hows it living with the ECFI, any more update now it's bedded in?

What's it like at a liesurely 65-70 mph cruise? Is it more boomy/droney? Could you live with it on a 4-5 hour drive?

Quick bump for any thoughts, problems etc that you've had so far woots now that you've lived with it for a while.

Absolutely no problems or issues

Fuel economy may have dropped a smidge, I'm talking by 1mpg but that may be my fault  can still get 29.1 cruising along at around 80mph

It just sounds so pissed off though, kinda has two modes of noise, semi throttle it sounds csl like...full throttle is like it's saying 'oh u want more...go on then...f**k you...have this you ponce haired but good looking twat'

It's really quite loud when u want it to be, but as docile as standard when your taking mrs woots to work in the local strip club

Cheers for that woots, glad its gone well for you :)

I'm actually amazed the mpg isn't considerably worse, not because of the power hike but simply because it must be hard to resist flooring it all the time just to hear that noise! :x

I think my only reservation is that it takes away any remaining shred of stealth you might once have had when going fast in the standard car. Now, everyone in a 5 mile radius is going to know when you're giving it death and even when you're not, people will think you are

Well tbh inside the cabin when I'm using part throttle at low revs it sounds fairly stealth, so it's not always screaming at you!! However saying that I have on occasion been driving slowly down the road and seems more people take notice of the car, so maybe outside it sounds more aggressive?

evolve will prob cut uk memebers a deal tho.... i reckon they'd do these for 2400 delivered..... when the gruppe m is like 900 quid id rather save more and buy this!!

+1 £3000 is an absolute silly amount of money, surely that £3k could be put towards something better! like forced induction?

It could be, but my latest investigations show that a fully fitted ESS supercharger kit from Simpsons is now in the region of £8k - before you start on the 'options list'.

I've almost ruled it out anyway as I couldn't get a reasonable quote for a supercharged, daily-driving, business use Z4MC. Best premium I could find was £4.5k - admittedly I only tried the comparison sites and a few specialists.

My mate is begging to have a go at doing a custom install - which would be 'much cheaper' according to him. But don't really want to go down that route if it ends up still being as costly as the Simpsons route without the relative 'known quantity' of the ESS kit.

Maybe it's a sign that I should just stop once I've done my suspension & brakes :P
