Evolve carbon fibre intake- now with a video

Would look good with a carbon fibre cam cover too....
.....not that I'm trying to spend more of your money :D

Ha yeah I think you're right....

But seeing as they only come in gloss I'd have to get my intake removed and sprayed with gloss to match...

Which isn't a big issue I guess

Yeah mate it's been finished for a few weeks now, bear in mind mine is raw carbon, not glossy, hence why it may look unfinished? I kinda like the raw look tho...may get it glossed one day :thumbsup:

Why has the main box got a satin finish,and the intake section a matt finish ?

Could the whole lot be laquered and polished to attain an even finish or is it not that simple ?

Yeah mate it can all be lacquered in gloss, as mine was a cheaper prototype it was just left as raw carbon

I'm not sure if the finish is different on the main box and the curved section, but I did ask evolve and they did say its cos bending carbon makes it come out of the oven different...

But yeah, check out their website for the finished article...the gloss finish looks sexy!!

Oh....And get some proper clips for your throttle bodies,not them ugly jubilee clips.....Sheesh!! :wink:

Yeah evolve said it no drama getting mine lacquered at any time, ha I don't mind the jubilee clips...but gonna see what aircraft spares I can find and fit them :thumbsup:
 
for the complete look, id gloss it all.... the clips look fine, for a cleaner look, loosen and rotate so the screw part is invisible, this just leaves the band part which looks nicer imo... i also swapped to chrome units.. simple but adds a nice effect to an otherwise uglier part of the install.

Edit - I can see Beedub's, so does that mean yours is under your air box ??

Yeah mate I plan on doing a lot of work to my car in Easter, one will be a gloss finish

I'll spin the clips around, good idea...where did you get the chrome ones from?

Yeah mate it's a csl dipstick which is shorter and is underneath and behind the airbox, still easy access :thumbsup:
 
i want the gloss finish in my engine bay next spring. i think it would tie in nicely.....love this intake, we need some more videos from outside woots!!

On FB, edit the video and choose "Public" from the drop-down list to the left of the "Finished editing" button.
