Everyone... Meet Brutus II

Its a great touch as part of the extended lighting, had it on the 1 series and was cool having all four doors light up :) I didn't spec it on the Zed though :(

Really awesome. Does the mirrors fold when you lock it?

I have the power folding mirrors but they don't fold when you lock/unlock the car, just wandered if this can be programmed in?

I believe it can be coded if you have the right tools but I also read that it resets back every time you bring it to the dealership. I had to buy a Smarttop to get the function to work.

Also JDM, I am not sure if that has been answered but why give a beautiful and sexy machine such a brute and beastly name?
My guess is you called your old Z Brutus I?

As Tim said they don't fold with locking but this would be quite cool. I just get in the habbit of folding them every time I park up.

Erm.. Dunno Brutus II seemed the default choice as my previous coupe was called Brutus! Any suggestions for a better name welcomed

My Z is called "Bruce".... logic as follows... "whose motorcycle is it baby?... Its a chopper honey....
whose chopper is it? ... :)

that pic is the money shot for me, the best angle to view the car from showing its curves and beauty

Is it just me or does the E89 look best in "coupe mode?"
It's just you, the E89 looks great both way. :D

Maybe it's just me but the name Brutus seems to work for the old Z, especially the "M" version because it's harsh and quick and can be brutal if you don't pay attention, it also look more aggressive on the outside. With the E89, as you said it is more refined and the body is sexier and sleek. Seems like it need a more angelic and inconspicuous name like Elizabeth or something. Again, that may just be me.

OK point taken... I will give some consideration to a sexier name... Valentino maybe?

Thanks James.. Think it's nearly as hard as the original Brutus to keep clean.. Funny that as its always rained whenever I've been.. And the fish n chips are always crap!

Yes indeed. Had mine for 18 months and still love it. Got a great euro trip in June to look forward to.....

Looking nice. I first saw the lighting door handles on a loan 1'er years ago....once I'd seen it, I had to have it. Another "cosmetic" thing for me!

My car is called "the bat mobile" cos when I had the demo car for the weekend, my friend saw it and said "f*ck me, its the bat mobile!!!). ok, so mine's not black, but it still works (in my mind!).

Auto-folding mirrors. Someone on the babybmw.net forum once said they could be dealer programmed for about £250, so when my Z was nearly ready, I asked if they could code this as part of the pdi (for free). The got a mechanic out and he said it shouldn't be a problem. When I collected the car, they said it was impossible, as BMW removed the option back in 2007 cos the motors weren't strong enough to go in and out every single time!

Now then, I don't believe this, but could hardly argue. It sounds like crap to me, and other manufacturers do it! I bet if I went back in and asked them to re-check and offered to pay, that they'd do it!

I'm tempted by the smart top mod which does this and more!

Hi there nice pics, I can't wait for mine now, will be picking up on 1st sept all being well!
If you don't mind how much was the navigation portable plus?

Yowzer talk about resurrecting an old thread... its been dead over a year ;) JDM no longer has the Z4, long story. He does pop by now and again tho so you might get an answer, or from someone else with this widget.
