Everyone... Meet Brutus II

Hmmm, been thinking - Brutus II, or perhaps more a Caesar or Socrates ? Just a thought, think it's the colour. Sorry, bit random

Looking good JDM - next time we need the roof down with some photo's of the gorgeous interior from a slightly raised perspective

How quick is the roof? Do a video? :D (sorry I've got a car getting topless fetish) ;)

Thanks Mark. Not gone round to updating signature been too busy enjoying the new car. Been on a trip to ladybower today with the Mrs. Some nice roads but was trying to avoid grass verges and dirty roads to try keep it clean... Bloody rain!!!

Roof goes up and down in 20 secs. Will get a video at some point but theres loads on YouTube

Great pics John, looking very good. I still look at mine very day and think wow. I clayed my car today and used some new SRP on it, and it's gleaming, and indeed, the 326 wheels were made for this car.....striking.

Had the small crack in the paint on my rear bumper fixed today, so if anyone needs a spot repair company in west London, let me know..

You're right Nick. So glad I upgraded to the 326's. They transform the car :D

Kevin - Black is dull, boring and claustrophobic.

JDM - Walnut is an old mans colour and a clear indication you have a penis of the same size!

You are both terrible for trying to wind me up and I hate you both haha! :)

Loving the pics tho!

Thanks Keith. This is getting boring now.. Truce?

New one looks good in white tho, nice choice

Cheers Craig... I know I am but that's just the way this car makes you feel.. Weird! Maybe I should give the lakes a miss knowing the pace of last years driving

looks quality john...wheels are stunning.. :)

preferring the original brutus.. he got a bit of a polish today.

Haha, thanks James. I thought you might prefer the original . Get some pictures up of the shiny beast and show off your hard work.. Have you got any more mods planned for it? :)

Superb JDM really stunning I wrestled with myself over the 19s reading all the concerns about the M sport suspension being to firm I opted to stay with the 18s to soften things up a bit for Mrs R. Should have went with my instinct, those wheels look the business... 8)

I have asked the dealer to de-badge for me, when I saw how clean Kevin's white Zed looked I called the dealer straight away, I think they look so much nicer with the clean flanks and rear end.

We need some video, top down, get some decent music on that 16 speaker mobile disco you have purchased  see if we all agree that the extra was worth it...Oh yes a decent exhaust clip while you have the camera running.

Cheers...Kev R

Yeah the wheels were a must for me. 18s look just that little bit to small IMO and I've always loved the 326's. As I said I'll try get a video of the top going down. Not sure how good the camera will pick up the soundsystem though but I'll give it a try

It does look lovely. The interior colour, wheels, debadging all combine to make it look like something special.

I think the only thing I'd struggle to live with would be the gap around the nav in the top of the dash. But then I drive my car with the screen closed 90% of the time for a similar reason. Maybe it's just me... ;-)

Sent from my iPad

Thanks mate.. I thought the same about the nav but I can honestly say i think I prefer it to the closed lid of the standard car. The tray is a perfect fit and it's soft touch plastic to match the rest of the interior. I've mentioned before that I am really impressed with the nav itself. The whole voice command is fantastic and understands every single word, letter and number. It's not missed a beat yet! Plus speed limit alert and fixed and mobile camera detection. Trumps the OEM nav at 1/5 the cost. Granted there's no idrive and all the other features but that doesn't really bother me to be honest. Rather have the other £2k in my pocket towards my new house and wedding :)

Hatfield way on then.. thats where my family are from :)

Yeah was parked up on a country lane in Branton which is out near my parents place :)

Looking well,

Have you any mods planned for it ?

No not really. I have other financial commitments over the next few years consisting of a wedding and new house. I will do the odd little thing I'm sure to personalise it but nothing major like the last one

managed to source an AFE induction kit, so that should wake the neighbours..

and i've decided to carbon wrap the lower bar on the front bumper, and the very tips of the bumper either end, bit of stone-chip protection and balance with the rear.

so nothing major.

you'll be pleased to know i got stopped in the corridor at work and told my rear end was lovely.

unfortunately HE was talking about Brutus' rear end..not sure i was terribly flattered anyway, he has a ponytail, works in IT and is a mobile disc jockey at the weekend. the trifecta of cool... :)

your new interior is as unique as the last..how does it compare in the hide to in the pictures? It looks like it might actually 'age' quite nicely...which is a rarity for a leather interior.

Looks great... I really like the e89 now... I must reserve the urge to upgrade... Seeing pics like this don't help at all :headbang:

Great stuff.. I had the Gruppe M on it for a while and then sold it to a fellow forumite prior to selling the car. It sounded awesome and complemented the exhaust setup perfectly so Im sure you wont be disappointed mate.

Bet the carbon looks great. I toyed with this idea a few times to match the carbon rear diffuser but never got round to it. I also thought about carbon mirror covers aswell.

Get some more pics up of your work James :)

Well its always good when someone complements your rear end.. not so sure about a guy with a pony tail though. I think your hanging around in the wrong sort of places :poke: On a serious note the rear end of your car was always my favourite view. The quads and the carbon diffuser just look awesome :D

Yeah I wanted something unique again. I like to be different and go away from the mundane run of the mill stuff that everyone chooses by default. They do a black and yellow combo for the E89 but didnt think it would look right with the white paintwork and also I suppose I wanted a change from the last car.

Regards the actual hide compared to the photographs it looks pretty much identical. In direct sunlight it can look quite orange but it certainly stands out against the white paintwork. Sort of reminds me of the colour you see in Ferraris and the like

Thanks Aquazi... Im the same. When it first came out I was like eurgh, I dont like it. Then I had an M sport on an extended test drive for a weekend before I bought the coupe and I warmed to it a little more but still preferred the E86, but now it just seems to work and makes the E85/E86 look a little dated. Weird how you get used to seeing something and grow to love it. Guess that's how the Mrs fell in love with me

i quite liked the e89 when i first saw the 35i as i thought the styling was very modern and cutting edge compared to a lot of the cars in the same price bracket. however once i saw the m sport version with the styling upgrades, i loved it and had to have one :D

how does it compare to the cinnamon (spelling?!) that was in some of the e46 individuals? that was my favourite colour, with black or grey it looked lovely.

Never seen the Cinnamon leather on the E46's James so cant really comment to be honest, but from googling "E46 cinnamon" It looks pretty close though. It is very close to the photos I posted in the flesh but I guess it depends on your screen settings to how its portrayed. :)

Found out today that it has voice control on the bluetooth aswell....

Such as dial number, dial name, etc.... Brucey Bonus!!! :D

Updated the voice activated phonebook today and it works a treat

Im sure that was a seperate tick box on the order sheet?

Voice control is a separate tick box...about £300 I think. I ticked it cos I had it on my 1'er. It also lets you control other functions of iDrive, but tbh, the main thing I wanted it for was the phone.

Another £300 wasted then!

From what I recall, all Bluetooth enabled Z have voice control for the phone only. Voice control that's the option is for cars with idrive and is way more advanced, I have control over almost any element in the car or idrive. Phone, navigation, settings, music library, BMW assist and much more...

Got home from work early today after a journey to and from Skegness with work in nothing but horrendous rain all the way there and back.

So I decided to give Brutus a bit of TLC as the sun was shining when I got home.

Just been back outside to get something out of the car... unlocked it and just thought i would share it with you.. The extended lighting really makes the car look that much more special at night when you unlock it.. Especially as the halos glow dimly to welcome you aswell .. Maybe it's just the wine having an effect on me.

Anyway, you know me. Any excuse to post a picture of my nice clean Zed.
