Eventuri VAI Carbon Intake Kit for the Z4M details

I also like that the Eventuri solution has had some actual thought go into its design  :poke:

I'm sure "thought" goes into all designs. Whether or not those thoughts are correct with regard to improved performance can easily be tested and measured though.

Steve's just gutted he shelled out more £ on a Gruppe M, and is angling to be a test mule for back to back testing so that he can get a free shot at deciding if the noise is better :P

Not at all. I honestly prefer the look of the GruppeM (Probably because I'm more used to it). But I don't buy into any of this airflow bollocks without proof. They are trying to sell units that are different to the norm so it gives them a USP, but without proof it is meaningless. When air is being rammed into an orifice how turbulent will it be and how easy is it to ease the flow. I bet most of this is done by the honeycomb which both units retain from the stock air box I believe.

My thoughts also.

Well either way or the other, I've just put the hammer down on one of these. 8)

Can't face £800+ on a GruppeM when nobody has been able to clarify why it's any different/better to this one, and frankly in my humble opinion £800+ is just ridiculous, that's dealer price logic, I don't know what something has to achieve to be valued at £800 but it better do more than just be a carbon/plastic inanimate object! £525 is pushing it, but £525 is a different league of "wtf how much did you pay for that thing?!" to GruppeM price.

Gruppe is £700, even cheaper when the group buy was running (£600?). In any case I doubt you'll be disappointed, please post some decent vids up though with the sound as I haven't heard any decent videos as yet, and I would be interested!

Definitely will.
I was finding it difficult to find a place selling the GruppeM, the first place I came across was at £808 I think. Not to worry.
Now need to decide what colour to redo the red intake plate in!

Black would be my choice, depends if you want it to stand out I guess.
CA Automotive by the way is the cheaper price for the Gruppe. They also do lots of other parts for the Z4M as well and Roy is a decent chap to deal with, just for future reference

Will keep it in mind
Just had a quick look at it now, I'm sure there's loads of useful stuff there but it's a dreadful website! No product search that I can see, everything is congested around scattered menus, wow!
Will bookmark it anyway for laters :)

I found Roy frankly underhand when I bought from him and I now actively avoid his company. Furthermore, a couple of indys I've discussed him with who used to buy aftermarket parts from him now wouldn't give him the time of day as he's so unreliable.
Just my experience so you have a balanced opinion.

ive never had an issue with ROy or CA tbh, whever ive purchased has been timely and perfect once arrived, however I've only purchased smaller items from him. His markup has always put me off buying the bigger bits from him, infact I've imported loads of stuff WITH import duty cheaper than his online prices.

Good man.

The GruppeM never appealed to me, noise is great but nobody has really reported any other benefits. Pretty much every review / owner of the Eventuri has reported an increase in drivability and measurable gains.

Will be great when these are tested side by side, but in any event 'there's no smoke without fire'

Aye I'll not be able to do a side-by-side comparison but will upload plenty of footage of it in action.
This forum is damn expensive! That's £800 in mods just this week  Haha a mate just said... so... you just dropped half a grand to make a noisy car even noisier...?

Hell yea

tempting, very tempting. Have been following Eventuri for a while on instagram now and the products at least look well engineered and designed.

Not sure if trying to get one over here to aus will be worth ditching my Afe for.. I wonder if they can fit in with a supercharger install?

I could go on in depth about the theory, development, tests, scientific rationale etc but I guess it would just be taken as "marketing spiel". So perhaps the growing number of people who are using the Eventuri and the consistent feedback they are giving is more powerful than the lecture I can give.

I'm not saying it isn't better than a GruppeM, but without back to back testing on the same car with the three senarios how can anybody say that one is better than the other.

I can completely understand the scepticism when it comes to intakes as we have all been fed plenty of "hype" over the years by numerous companies with their generic cone filter designs promising ludicrous gains which have never been held up. In fact the E46 M3 community have tried various intakes only to go back to the original airbox as they experienced reductions in performance and driveability by using aftermarket intakes (except for the CSL style airbox).

I'd love to do a 3 way test - just need to find a Z4M and a Gruppe M!
