Eventuri Carbon Intake Kit

The guy with the rattling airbox had a black M3 with a very distinctive number plate, something like "B A Loon". He told us that he had been in touch with Eventuri and was confident that the rattling was a minor glitch. The guy was very pleased with it otherwise.

For what it's worth I think that there have been too many harsh comments here. Simonipierce echoes my thoughts on this

It's probably a very good marketing exercise if you were to get one on a forum car asap...if it's good we will all hear about it, and you'll no doubt see interest and direct response.

I know it's fitted to Katie_K's car, but she very rarely posts. (97 total, nothing in 3 month's).

This is her thread for when she mentions about having the venturi fitted, she posts some teaser pics and promises to update...nothing but empty promises unfortunately.

http://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=63863&p=1033063#p1033063

I remember when woots had the Evolve CSL style airbox fitted, he spent a lot of time updating everybody, posting videos etc. Was fantastic marketing for evolve and if I had the money I'd go in that direction. Unfortunately, other than be able to develop the venturi on Katie's car, she's done nothing to drum up interest on the forum.

Not empty promises. I'm her other half. We have been away on holiday for the last month and we both work away from home. So haven't had time to get anything up on the forums since getting back.

I will get a brief write up on the Intake tonight and Katie will follow up with her write up. I will also try and get a some gopro footage this weekend from inside the car so people can hear it.

There is nothing wrong with this intake. Very very far from the truth and people shouldn't jump to conclusions cos someone hasn't been online to post about it. We do all have life outside of cars. (Well some of us do)

Think some on here need to give Eventuri a break. They are offering what looks like a very good bit of kit for reasonable money with a great forum discount.

Surely we should be encouraging more of this than rubbishing their product before anyone has got and real reason to.

Exactly, my thoughts also.

Maybe some people will always find things to pick holes at?

At the end of the day no one can't comment on the product until they have fitted it to their own car. Then they are entitled to their valid opinion.

Plus it's British made, so I think it's worth a punt.

Tony (b a loon) has a gen1 airbox. Evolve moved to the gen2 about 2 months after the release of the gen1 to stop this rattle and upgraded all gen1 airbox's to gen2 free of charge. Tony bought his Gen1 second hand, so who knows why the previous owner didn't come forward for the free upgrade.

My last tuppenyworth! The forum is supposed to be used to share peoples experiences so that the majority can benefit from all the knowledge available before making their own conclusions. I appreciate people have detailed in this thread that there have been some 'harsh comments' but for my part, everything I have listed in the thread is evidence backed facts & nothing more. I myself was very keen to purchase the Eventuri unit and chased Imran and Katie_K for feedback and audio and have done so since November. The only reason I have not placed a pre-order was because Evolve wanted ALL the money up front and then expected me to wait without a definitive delivery date. I offered a deposit and the balance when the units were in stock, but this offer was declined. so......

I think I've done more than most to support the launch of this product.

I can get Gruppe M kits for £645 plus £14 postage. From Roy at CA Technologies

Need an order of 6 or more.

Tried and tested and they take around 3 weeks from Japan.

To me this looks pretty much a poor mans Gruppe M far more suited to the Z4MR than the coupe!

I think it's great people are developing new products for the Z4M. Great stuff Imran/evolve/eventuri.

Agreed. I just couldn't believed that there are so much harsh/negative comments on here for a new product that no one has tried other than on the development car! Why all the bash? I'm just glad someone is still developing new products for such a low volume car that has been out of production for over 6 years! If you are apprehensive, then just wait until after the initial delivery for the mass reviews. I don't want to see this thread be made of an example that would dissuade others from developing new products for our cars.

Agreed new products for the Z4M is only a good thing.

I would be interested in the remap, what do they go for?

To be honest, I quite like reading the polar's of opinion...I think it's healthy and at least people have a view! If he got zero response to his initial post then I'd be far more worried.

From a marketing perspective it's only a positive thing for Eventuri....if he can bring a product that creates debate (is it better than, etc...) then it's positive sign! If I were him I'd actually welcome the 'negative' view too...these forums are great to engage, look at the problem and find a better marketing solution (i.e he may decide to go with a lower deposit to secure a spot now). Then at the end of it all he's got a group of advocates who will provide the reinforcement for future purchasers.

Imran here posting under Eventuri username. I would like to know who this owner is as I have not had any contact with a customer regarding a rattling Evolve CSL air box. If you look online there is not one negative review about the quality of the Evolve CSL Airbox.

Assuming something is wrong with the Eventuri just because she hasn't posted on this forum is not a fair comment to make at all. Here is her post from Instagram 6 weeks ago. Maybe she is too busy to post up her review on the forum?

Here is a review from her other half Paul46 on M3Cutters http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showpost.php?p=1542727&postcount=450

I have a kit here that we used for the photographs - anyone on the forum is more than welcome to come and take a look at it in person, have it fitted to their car, have a test drive around our area and have it dyno'd. If they like it they can buy it for the pre order price - if not then we can take it off and not charge anything.

As for the poor mans Gruppe M comment. Our carbon is second to none. The rest of the kit is ultra high quality - machined MAF housing and neoprene lined heat shield.

Hi Imran,

Thanks for clearing that up. I'd love to take a better look at the intake and hear it in person. Where are you guys based and when could I pop down?

Steve I think they're in Luton and if you're going down let me know - I am not too far away and would like to try this on my car also.

Their offer of a "free trial/drive" sounds very generous

Does that mean they fit it for you? That would be a really great deal of they did! No postage and fitted! :poke:

Would be great to see a back to back test on the same car between this and the gruppe M. This looks like great piece of kit.

Cheers James. I'll let you know when it gets sorted. I know Ninarvana is very interested too, so I'm sure she'll pop down with me. We can have a mini meet?

Sound clip on the Gruppe M
Filmed on an iPhone in car windows closed

That actually sounds pretty good and I'd have to say pretty similar to the eventuri/evolve one from the vids I have seen of that.
Both look like good bits of kit, and I'm certain evolve wouldn't bother selling anything half-baked, that would be sniffed out straight away.

At £500 that seems a good deal to get a little more power and noise. If I hadn't gone the CSL route I'd be tempted by both options, nice to have the choice between different manufacturers now :)

The CSL box option isn't quite as expensive as people think though... £1100 or so for a Geoff steel version and then £400 for a map. Definitely more power to be gained and some more noise. Still, 3 x the price though.
Unfortunately none of the lovely low rev bass the box produces in this clip as on track but you get some idea.

Sounds good to me Steve!

Would I be right in thinking this new air intake keeps the MAF and that is part of the expense of the CSL one, as it includes a day on the dyno tuning the Alpha-N?

Right honestly I had no idea this chat was going on here.

With regards to my absence on the forum I have embarked on a new career and I spend all my week days away In Norfolk and due to this I spend all my weekends trying to catch up on living a bit.

The delay has been a mix of that, holiday, christmas etc. and me wanting to take quality photos of it.

I am over the moon with the eventuri kit it really is an awesome piece of kit, the guys worked so hard on my car to make sure, fit, performance etc was correct which naturally also put a slight delay on things.

As Paul says my full write up including photos, videos and my overview on it will be done this weekend.

If I knew this kind of chat was going on I would have responded sooner :o
