So this wkend I got busy with replacing the engine mount bracket bolts and washers with a new set and out of the eight mount bracket bolts 1 had completely backed out (driver side front upper mount bolt) and 3 others were loose (2 on the drivers side and 1 on the passenger side)!
Managed to get to all 8 and applied some red loctite to the new bolts (any opinions on whether red loctite was okay to use?).
Noticable improvements include the car being smoother, gear shifts are less jerky and feel more crisp, less rattling, car feels more predictable and all in all just feels tighter.
I did replace the fcab as well so that may contribute to it and also replaced the reinforcement plate bolts with new ones given they are one time use.
Definitely a good idea to check these! Worrying to think this is a somewhat common issue, btw my z4m is a coupe 07 (Feb 2007).
