Electrical Gremlins

So normally with zeds mechanically I’m fine but when it comes to electrical stuff you can’t see it hurts my head. My issue started off with my dash cam power feed cutting in & out. Then my airbag light started flickering on & off clearing itself. Over the last couple weeks the interior light has also joined the disco so I now have the red airbag light and a pulsing cabin light along with central passenger airbag light doing a disco flash in time with the interior light.

My limited electrical knowledge things I should check first are the battery and alternator any other thoughts ?

That sounds like you could have an lose connection somewhere. Time to get the wiring schematics out I fear. Always worth checking the battery.

Just checked the battery. Comes up showing healthy and the alternator is putting out 14.2 volts.

I’ve also got intermittent wipers now. Getting worse what ever it is.

Check all your wiring ground points to make sure they're secure/clean and actually making a good ground connection.

Did you check the battery connections are both good and tight?

Also, worth thinking back to when it started. Did it follow any work you did?

Well I called out an auto electrician who managed to fix it in 20mins!

Quite impressive to watch him crawl all over the interior and find the ignition switch playing up. He took it apart cleaned it up and refitted, all the issues gone. So that was intermittent wipers, flashing airbag light and flickering interior light.

Remember that one guys.

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear it was an easy fix.
I never would have thought a faulty ignition switch would have that effect on the electrics.

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear it was an easy fix (for the electrician).
