Ebay - Bargain M Sport seats?

not a bargain anymore, now you've chucked them up on here

I bid them up to £350, but never really wanted them they're non heated and manual. yes i know you can swap the bases for electric ones, but I just can't be bothered

worth the money for around £400. anymore and you probably won't see your money back. Heated is a must for me.

Base swap is easy if you have electric already but I'd want heated the most. Cold leather in winter is not nice.

I get a feeling this forum is overrun by the elderly

I was 30 just two days ago.

People just like different things. Is that so hard to understand?

Youre way to young to have backpain.
If you have backpain when you're 30, the rest of your life is going to be hell.
When you're 30 you still must have that feeling that you can take on the world.

Of course people like different things but I still associate comfort orientated musthaves with old age.
Maybe some extra padded seats would also be to your liking if you get my point :P

Total bargain in my book.
Heating is for sissy's and electric is only handy if multiple people drive the cars (which is rarely the case with garage queens)

I have both heated and electric seats and I could totally do without (only once had the heating on to see if it worked...)

If the seller was able to ship it to the mainland for a decent price he could get much more for these (I believe manual seats dont distinct between lhd and rhd)

What sort of money do they fetch on the mainland these days?

I remember paying just over £500 for my mint heated/elec ones in the UK but that was nearly three years ago now. I remember thinking that was about my limit but did manage to sell my existing ones for £300 at the time making it more palatable.
What sort of money does a mint heated/elec set fetch these days in the UK and Europe?

I have a bid on them but don't see me getting them for what I want to pay. Although winning 10 minutes ago. Go with the other 4 sets I have having different amounts of work.

I paid £750 for a mint set of M seats electric & heated 18 months ago

If you want mint ones right away expect to pay €3000 because you'll end up with the german ebay traders.

Private sellers differ.
I saw a black set on the german forum for 800 euro (heated electric), they were gone within 2 seconds.
I saw a red set on the german forum (manual but heated) for 2000 euro, they also sold (dont know for how much, but a lot.)
Usually every set in normal/good condition will get sold for 1250/1500 euros, maybe more.
Depends on whether you advertize on ebay and are willing to ship.
If you have a set in moderate nick, manual not heated, like this, expect to get €1000 at least I think.
(these are virtually the most basic ones, non electric, no heating and oregon leather instead of new england/walknappa)
So shipping manual seats to the mainland (no rhd-lhd refitting necessary) could be a nice business. Maybe also refitted rhd-lhd electric seats too.

M seats are hardly a bonus when selling the complete car but on their own, they're gold because they're probably the most wanted option for people who dont have them but already have the car.

The point is, buying them at the dealer (in parts) you'll end up paying €3000/piece

Yes but I bet you dont regret it! :D proper M jobbies with the nicer leather and their sheer rarity have got to be worth a bit extra.

Wow and I thought zed bits were pricey over here. 2,000 Euros is just over half what I paid for the entire car nearly 3 year ago!

Have to say I agree with Marlon. Went to a deal of trouble to put heated/electric seats in mine but definitely worth it. Especially true if the other half is in the the car. As they say ‘happy wife is happy life.’

They'd be a good buy for anyone with an E86 SE - just put them on the electric bases.

You don't really need heated seats in a Coupe - so now I need to put on the flame-proof suit!

Just so happens I destroyed my old se seats for the heating elements, meaning i have electric bases sat here should anyone be in the market

The black ones are an absolute bargain when compared to these ridiculously priced red ones

Crazy. Absolutely crazy.

I saw a set of red sport seats with door cards, heated and electric for £380 buy it now, missed out on them! Now that's a bargain.

Not sure if the seller realised the price they went for or someone got very lucky.

^^I still dont think they're ridiculously priced.
Red, in good nick + doorcarts.

These are ridiculously priced:

There must be a big market for sport seats on the continent!

I advertised a set of heated, electric, memory yellow/black sport seats and doorcards on eBay last year and had loads of messages from German's asking whether I would ship them abroad. They were quite persistent also!

I sold them for £600 to a member on here in the end.

You can buy a whole Z4 for a few grand, take the seats out and break the car, so to advertised the interior alone for more money is absolutely crazy.

Yes parts on the mainland are expensive. But a z4 over there is also still 2-3 times as expensive. (and to be fair, they are usually kept in better condition on the mainland, maybe because they're more expensive)
I think also because of the low z4 price in the uk, there are a lot more breaker z4's.
When I blew my diff, the first thing I did is get 2 new ones from the uk (about £80 each...). If you want a diff on the mainland, if you can get a z4 diff, expect to pay £300+

And the market for m sport seats is big indeed, its probably the most desired option by people who dont have them.

Well the red ones haven't sold and just got dropped by £100. Not a surprised in the UK at that price as that breakers always knows how to charge! That said and based on what GuidoK's comments I'm a little surprised that someone from the continent hasn't jumped on a ferry to buy these. Might sound a little OTT but some lads from Holland did exactly that decade or so ago to buy some rare Peugeot 309 GTI Goodwood ones from me. I remember being astounded as the ferry/petrol cost them more than the seats. But if you really want something and its hens teeth I guess its the way it has to be! :)
