E89 Z4 Black on Black

I don't think it's a great job on an SE with the SE alloys. I think you have went overboard a little. Personally to get the look of the car back I would consider Black Alloys with a polished rim as those SE alloys do nothing for the car. The black grills... Hmmm I feel you have completely ripped the nose off the car and could maybe get the outside edges of the girlls in chrome to matched the polished alloys.

I can see what you are trying to achieve and remember that we have all made style mistakes.

I think what you have to remember is BMW is a stylish brand and especially in America where a European brand is seen as a classy, stylish brand.

Sorry, I hate giving a problem and not being able to offer a solution.

Ps we know in the US that might be ultra stylish and there fore us Europeans are mere knobs poking fun at your evil looking bat mobile that you can pretend to be Bruce Wayne in!

Like you say its an age / location thing. But as stated if you like that's all that matters

I still think dark gray would look nice and i am only 31 1/2 :)

Pretend? I AM Bruce Wayne! But sadly, after Bane destroyed my Wayne Enterprises and they towed my Aventador, this is all I can afford :P

The paint we will be using will be glossier, we used them on a friends 335is and his came out looking very, very nice. As of now, they don't reflect any light. They will reflect light with the paint.

I had the same problem with my old M coupe do I go black on black or not but went for It in the end and I was glad I did,

So I say go for It,

Not a great fan of black wheels I'm afraid, its a passing fad a bit like white Z4s :? :poke:

My problem with what you have done is its made the wheels look diddy as if the Zed is on casters

Tim.

I'm afraid the words diddy and casters were lost on me LOL

And api330, yours looks great!

Diddy - very small, petite, undersized
Casters - little wheels found under furniture for example.

To be honest, I think you are asking the wrong audience here. Europeans tend to prefer understated elegance, whereas Americans ( and I am generalising here ) prefer more bling, which some Europeans might consider a little vulgar. So I don't think it's an age thing, but an ethnocentric one.

It's was my old car and thanks It did look good, Titan Tim means the wheels look small in black (diddy and casters)

Sadly, pimped BMWs aren't associated with drug dealers here. That's old school Chevys and the nasty Chrysler 300! Hell, maybe I should have asked the Arabs.

"Not enough Gold."
"Chrome the entire car"
LOL

Each to their own, and I like the banter you're giving back .. Good sport.

I always think cars like this look better in the flesh and pics struggle to do them justice. Bigger alloys might do you more favours with the colour scheme, could imagine black multispokes with a polished rim could look really well ... And as for drug dealers, well the scrots that you see getting stopped by the police on tv tend to drive clapped out focus' and the likes?

Yeah, they mostly drive older American cars. The "successful" ones will drive the Chrysler 300. The most successful one I've ever seen had a Murcielago and two Gallardos. Lived near me and I went to school with his son. Their house was raided by the DEA a couple months ago. They seized anything they suspected was bought with drug money!

Haha we are all in the wrong profession by the sounds of things.

Alloys wise I was looking for a pic but something like this i had in mind if you're going to get black 19s (ignoring the fact they are hostile AMG)

18 years old with an E89, nice one
I do think that 19's would look much better as these don't look aggressive enough. Also I'd spend a bit on the BMW gloss grills, they look so much better IMO.

I like those! If I were to spend on rims, I would probably keep it at or under 2,000 USD. It would be funny to leave the Mercedes center caps on as well :P
