E89 Z4 Black on Black

I took my car to my friends house and he plasti-dipped by rims black. I wanted to see how they would look before I went ahead and painted or powder coated them.. These are the pictures we took at his house. Also did the Sdrive emblems and the Z4 on the back. The front grilles, I painted matte black. I didn't want to spend 89 dollars on new grilles.

I don't mean to be rude, just off my own opinion really but I think it cheapens the look of the car with everything the same colour. I'm sure younger ones on here will like the batman look.

I think you lose all the definition of the shape of the car with the all black look not for me I'm afraid

Don't like that - it looks a bit odd all being black. Sorry. :(

I think you need the silver of the wheels to break it up a bit.

I agree with the guys, for me its too much black.
It's your car though, so if you like it, that's all that matters.

I've seen a few E85s that are black on black and look good, but for me that's just a bit too much on the E89, loses all definition and class IMO.

It's a no from me

Sorry, have to agree that black on black without any contrast is just too much.

Now black on gun metal is another question .....

I don't mind it and if you like that's all that counts. But i will say i think there should be contrast from wheels and body colour. Thats why when i put silver wheels and they where almost the same as the car i had to do something with them. I think an dark gray would look great just like Half Colin has has above.

Sorry to hear you guys don't like it! It's a popular thing with the younger crowd here. Most people above 30 don't seem to care for it! Everyone under loves it. Considering I'm 18, I'll give myself some time with it :P

Still not black enough for me: headlights, tail lights and side indicators should be darker (not all black) and windows tinted too.
And please... lower it and paint your calipers firy red!

EDIT: remove the whip!

Don't worry! Those are all coming, except i'm not a fan of lights being tinted. I'm looking at red calipers and thinking of moving up to 19" wheels instead of lowering it! Stubby antenna has also been ordered! :D

And yeah, nondizzyblonde, wasn't the best location for pictures. He doesn't have the best economic situation. There's also more drug dealing happening in my area than his. Rich kids love their drugs. So forgive me if I don't understand the comment?

I like it, and don't understand some of the "loses all definition" comments. The car was black to start with, so the body lines and creases haven't changed. I also agree with the contrast comments, as i like bright silver alloys on my black car, to break up the side profile.

Make sure you got a lot of coats of plasti-dip on them. From peeling it off my gsxr, the areas where it was thinner was a ballache to remove!!!

Thanks! The plasti-dip is just temporary, I just wanted to see what it would look like before I made the decision to paint or powder coat them!
