E89 welcome lights

I have recently purchased a BMW Z4 E89 (2010) and when i unlocked the car the angel eyes and tailgate lights would light up when the headlight position was set to on and when i started the car the xenons illuminated. I have noticed that now when i unlock the car the angel lights and tailgate lights have stopped working and I'm unsure if it's because i have changed a setting in the cars computer or if there is another reason for this happening. The LED lights under the door handles are still illuminating but the others aren't.

Please can someone offer some advice, I'm unsure if there is a setting i have accidentally changed or if there is another reason for this.

Thanks for the welcome, i don't have any pics on the laptop im afraid. It's in white with 19 inch alloys, very pleased with it so far!

You don't mention if you have idrive but if you do then under settings and lights is a DRL option and this should be set to on. Also the lights don't always illuminate if you've unlocked and locked the car several times in the same few minutes. Power saving stuff.

-Clever! :)

Sorry, i don't have iDrive i don't think. Just the standard computer. It just doesn't work anymore even if the cars been sat over night.

Maniac will sort it for you he know everything you need to know about the E89 and then some
I didn't even know my roof came down for 2 years!! :D

Can you put the roof down from the key? From looking on the net it seems some versions of the z4 you can and some you can't...

Sorry for the newbie questions, obviously new to this z4 stuff :)

Check the manual if you have a non idrive car as it should show you how to enable or disable drl's. You may also need to have the light switch on 'auto' for this to work, can't recall right now.

As for the roof, hold the open button down.. For ages. Boot cover must be down and locked of course.

I don't have the auto light option on mine, the manual suggests that as long as the lights are in the on position the welcome lights should work. Hmm strange.

Can you turn them off via the computer? The manual suggests you can't, is the only option to use the switch to the control stalk to the right of your steering wheel?

As I say, manual shows the control stalk turning off/on the DRL's on non idrive cars. Its easier on the idrive as its in the settings menu under lights.

Lights need to be in the on position when you switch the engine off. Then when you open the car the welcome lights should come on......thats what mine do anyway....just remember to turn them off if its daylight!!
