Maybe I have misunderstood the dct

I have seen them on newer cars compared to the auto on slightly older ones

That's a torque converter auto, but it's the newer one that has the same gear knob as the DCT - just to confuse everyone! I've never had either of the autos (only manual and DCT) but from what I've read on here it sounds like the DCT isn't a huge upgrade on the newer auto and, if you're not going drag racing the auto might even be the better option.
 
Then it is not a DCT I am after!

I am happy with the torque convertor auto - I have used these on BMW saloons and was impressed with them

I think its a little on the expensive side but a nice car though
