** update now 520 miles **

Come on Jim get your finger out !

I'm in the same boat tho with my wife's 335, bought it July 2nd and it's still only got 700 on the clock!
To be fair we've been on holiday in the zed for most of August.

Been looking at the E89 more and more just recently. Given the relative cost you can get a three litre for now, that interior and those looks (with the right wheels), are starting to look pretty sweet.

Well if you ever fancy a change I'm more than willing to swap

They do look the part with the roof up agreed but sound much better with the roof down

windows down, roof up. best of both worlds

How about roof and windows down :D

only at low speeds or you run the risk of fly in the eye syndrome once the needle rises too high on the speedo

Completely agree but just wished they had better engines in them bar the 35i, I may change next year and would like to consider the E89 again but the engines are a complete turn off for me :(

Tim.

Nah one bad experience should'nt sour it Tim, try a 28i and 35i between now and next June, you'll be back...

Roof down at speed the noise is loud!

Loud???? Clearly you've never been in an MR2 T bar Ronk, I'll take you down the M1 in mine, you'll think your're sat in the bass bin at an AC/DC concert compared to the warm gentle summer breeze blown by dusky maidens in a poppy field Zed..

I was on the Autobahn last year at 140 and that was plenty noisy for me - the wind noise and my wife in the left seat shouting !!!

Lid down of course!

The noise is better when decelerating from speed and dropping a couple of gears, sounds like the exhaust is spitting flames

Hi Tim

When you go online you will never see a 35is discounted .. but when I walked into my main dealer (Fairfeild leigh on sea) they gave me the following .. this is how I ended up with the car in the 1st place, I had a Evoque at the time

our car list price was £52k with nearly all the options ..

this then dropped to £46k .. I had a £8k deposit and the dealer matched that as well so anothe £8k off .. for me a great deal and i got the TLC pack chucked in as well .. then you have the n54 twin turbo engine with over boost right up to 500Nm torque with the 7 speed dct as standard

https://broadspeed.com/new_cars/BMW/Z4/Choose_Number_Of_Doors/Roadster/

Decent discount on all models here.

I've looked on the site - now tempted to ditch the disco 3 and my E89
I will probably wait until I get back from holiday as I don't really want to be pestered by sales calls while away.

35is. Without a doubt.
Currently have a 3.0l E89 but a bit extra whoomph won't go amiss will it?
I'm unsure about colour tho.,?

I could always go Porsche - :D that would definately be a showroom search and test drive scenario.

Having just gone through this dilemma, I seriously thought about going back to a zed, with discounts up to £14k on a 35is it is relatively cheap motoring. However, for me the design is now 6 years on, that is a generation in terms of cars and things have moved on. I test drove the M235i convertible and it is mighty fine to drive and obtained £5k off list from BMW York, have to say it handles very well, steering has significantly improved on the e89 which was one of it's disappointments. The thing that got me with M235i was that it doesnt look like a £40k car and it just didn't float my boat aesthetically speaking.

While I was waiting comfortably for Dan@York to get my figures, I just kept looking at the Estoril blue/red leather 4 series convertible that was close by and thought that's so much nicer.....I was sold

4 series is a nice car...

The 2 series is a bit of a pig really.... And like you say 40k!!!.......Just no!
