Dealers very rarely will price a car unless they were pretty sure that they would get somewhere close to ask.

I'm curious to see what sort of mileage these N54 Z4s get to. There don't seem to be many N54 3 series with high mileage around, but I suspect a lot of Z4s might be looked after better.
If you assume that you've had to replace turbos and lots of gaskets by 100k, what's to stop it getting to 200k?

Once you get past the pain of the things that will fail because they weren't the best design or materials then the core engine seems to be as good as, or better than any other BMW straight 6. Forged crank and rods, lots of cumulative knowledge transferred from the N52.
Over the pond there are lots of folks seriously abusing N54 with 100k-200k mileages.
Given the inability of people to stretch them for more than a few seconds they are effectively over engineered in the hands off almost all folks.
So providing you keep changing the oils, the belts and the rogue plastics then once you are through the known issues they probably would go on forever.

That’s what I was thinking when I initially mentioned it. At that mileage it’s got to have most/all of the known issues addressed, particularly with FSH??
