Just out of curiosity after reading previous posts (No intention of selling) just went for a valuation with WBAC. Only basic details required, no extras taken into account and valuation received was £20,260 which lets say is way under anything I consider reasonable for a 2014, 35is with 46K miles and all the toys.

They have offered £26k for my Sept 2016 car 13,800 miles and all the toys, I am the only owner and every service required done on time. The car has a Smarttop and a BMW Dash cam fitted but that's not taken into consideration.
Auto Trader however showed a Trade in value against a nearly new M40i of £27, 730this was at several BMW dealers. Again tho, that was without the consideration of the Smarttop and Dash Cam system.

Im not exactly slumming it in the current car so they can go whistle!

They won't give any extra for the smart top nt certain about the dash cam - I would take the smart top out and resell on here

If I sell the car on here, I will leave the Smarttop & Dash Cam fitted - If I do trade it in the Smarttom comes out. The Dash cam although £400 ish, would have to stay as there is too much work to remove it sympathetically.

I would leave for a private sale but as a P/X they come out for certain

So have you ordered an M40i?

I'm very very tempted to be honest! Im still torn between Red or Blue. Ive got a written quotation against an order for delivery in the Springtime. I just need the kick in the pants to sign.
My car will go into hibernation as it always does before the cold and wet begins - so being without over those time doesn't bother me. I will just use mrs K's 335.

Yes get blue :D (because I don’t want there be lots of the red which of course we all know is the very best colour)

I was going to say get red for the very same reason  and we all know the blue ones are faster

Ironically it was a blue G29 on the motorway that first piqued my interest. I went to view an ex demo S20i at Douglas Park Irvine in blue, looked fantastic on the website, pics and video. When I got there I found it outside, looking filthy and unloved and didn't even go into the showroom to inquire. Granted it was badly presented but it pretty much put me off the blue.

Lynn and I went back down a couple of weeks later to look at an ex demo S20i in white, again looked fantastic on the website, pics and video. Once again found it outside and dirty, turned out talking to the sales girl that she was using it as a company car and the blue one was also in use.

Was offered a test drive and accepted, wanted to see if I could live with the 20i or would want the 30i. Turns out I could have, for what we wanted it for.

Back at the showroom and it quickly became apparent that there would be no leeway in price/trade in. I politely pointed out I had seen better deals elsewhere and sales girl went in a huff saying "My car is the most competitively priced in the country."

I then pointed out how disappointed I was in the condition of the car, and that I'd looked at the blue one earlier and it was worse. She simply said they were in use as company cars to which I replied that was not how they were being advertised. When we left Lynn said she was surprised I didn't push for a better deal (I'm notorious for haggling when buying cars and bikes) and I told her that I wasn't interested enough in the car to do so.

Bit of a long story to say I prefer red to blue lol, so saying I would have taken blue or white if the spec and deal had been correct.

I thought it was the quality of driver that made it faster and not the colour, my mistake

So what I got from that, was, the colour you really like was the one on the best deal, a true Scot

Lol, not quite Sars. Just that I would not have bought a lower spec car just because it was red. I did break my budget a bit going for mine, but it had just about every pack on it, including the ones I wanted, and it was red. Plus I negotiated it down to just a tad over budget which appeased SWMBO.

Apparently not in this case Sars, Before I ordered mine I kept getting assured by current blue owners that it was faster so I had to bow to their knowledge and ordered safe in the knowledge that I was getting the fastest one

If you can find a local dealer that would take mine as part ex on your new one, happy to pay the difference and take yours?

Wasn't this one bought by someone who joined on here a few months ago - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353620386559?hash=item52556ae2ff:g:9o8AAOSwcPphF4i7 - maybe he saw a quick profit

Has this been for sale before? It seems to ring a bell.

Interesting. Is this a forum car? Don't recognise it.
