That missing its party frock

I loved my GSi - was a great all round car for transporting the kids and all heir stuff round

The DCT box in manual mode with paddles and you have every thing the manual box offers and more, I’m normally a manual box person, in my RS and GRY I collect soon, but I’d not have an E89 with a manual now I’ve had this a while.

That silver one does look great, but his/my Space grey looks nicer ........ need to take some new pictures as I just ceramic coated it.

A lot depends what you use the car for , a DCT has its plus points as a daily but if you are buying a weekend pleasure car then a mapped manual 35i is the one to have .
Of all the 16 Zs ive owned its the car is most want to have back in my garage

I've enjoyed both gearboxes formerly in BMW form of the E92 M3 with exactly the same box but with different map.

Ps, that that is a lovely looking silver Z4, I'm not surprised you miss it..

I started looking for either but managed to find a 35is in my price range 7 months ago. Never driven any other Z4 other than mine so not in a position to compare.

I've never owned an auto car before so if I'd have opted for the 35i then a manual it would've been.

I have no regrets though with the 35iS with the DCT.

I had never owned an auto until I test drove my 35is. The DCT gear box is a revelation and suits the car. Horses for courses but unless you have driven one with this set up don't knock it. With the paddles it can be driven like a manual. Best of both worlds IMHO.

But, even though I don’t share your fascination with black cars all you’re doing is proving my point as correct if it was my £23/£24k it’d be going into a 35 of any colour before that VO one

That black IS is a good buy IMO, it's on autrader as a 35i, advertised correctly I would have gone by now.
