E89 has landed

Wallet braced for a lightening
Car showing 4500k until next service but last major in book was 50k ago so rather bring it forward & have it tiptop :driving:
Oil+filter
Gearbox oil
Diff oil
Plugs
Air filter
Coolant
Brake fluid
Air con re-gas
Wiper blades
Remove CDV & a general looking over
Collect it tomorrow & not expecting any unforseens so any guesses on how much

No clue but I'll guess first. Looks like an inspection 2 type deal without having the top of the engine off so at the dealer £650 and at an Indy £400.

Let the ridicule begin! :(

The guy is a ex BMW Master tech now trading as Indy BMW/Mini specialist , trust him with any BMW ,
Between £300/£400 is my ballpark target

Mines booked in at my Indy next week for inspection 2 combined with MOT. If it passes MOT I'm expecting £500 - £600

That's a lot for an I2 at an Indy... my last Inspection 2 plus brake fluid change was done by my local BMW dealer and came in at £456

MOT was done a short while later for under £30 by a local place that only does MOTs

It's a guesstimate - truth is I've not asked for a quote.

Service £210-£220
Coolant £25
Brake fluid £30
Gearbox oil £35
Diff oil £30
Aircon regas £40
Wiper blades £12
CDV removal £20

£400ish..

Collected car today & happy to hear from my indy that he could find zero to spend my money on other than the service requirements i left him with .
CDV wasn't there to remove & diff has no drain (sealed for life) so neither of these two items werer done
I supplied the engine oil & brake fluid leaving
plugs x 6
air filter
oil filter
coolant
wiper blades (OEM)
Under £300 all in leaving nothing on the horizon only fuel , miles & smiles :) :driving:

Also heartening to hear from a guy who trades a good few BMWs throughout the year that he was amazed with interior/exterior condition & how well it drove for a 7 year old car with 125k on the odometer :o
Yep , i reckon i could have the highest miler 89er on here & bought to enjoy not garage so miles will rise

That's a sensible price & proves these cars don't have to cost an arm&leg if you go to the right place.
Should have plenty of miles left under the hood mr Wilks
I wasn't keen on the e89 initially, but they've grown on me now to the extent that I'd be happy with one as a replacement for my si.

Nice it got a clean bill of health and there were no surprises. Looks like your high miler E89 was a smart move

Nope. :D when I sold my e89 last july it had 135k on it. must have a bit more now.

So pretty much on top of everything then met with forum pal Gav (beetlegav) earlier , he clocked the shine on my steering wheel leather from the 125k covered  so i got home & addressed it with a solution of leather cleaner & swarfega green :o in the knowledge if i fooked it then a £120 Royal wheel makeover would have to be the solution
Apologies if the pic doesn't capture it & wish id taken a before as it was pretty glassy :(
