E89 2009 30i key fob

Done a bit of research, but would appreciate advice guys.
Low battery key fob warning has popped up on display.
Not got comfort access, so it appears these are rechargeable batteries, but not a straight forward battery replace.
Am guessing the battery has possibly reached the end of its best life, but am attempting to charge on the toothbrush charger.
Any suggestions, or is it a case of a replacement fob from BMW at £180.00.
Are there people that can do an effective fix, or is it a gamble and not worth the hassle.

Already a topic on this question... just a quick soldering replacement.
Use a utility razor blade to cut the seam on the original key case... wear a glove to protect your hand is often good advice.

Loads on ebay, just type in battery and case.
But handy if you have a dremel tool to cut open old case or a fine toothed cheap hobby hacksaw.
New case clips together.
