Nice progress! I'm looking forward to seeing what the new kidney grilles look like fitted, I'm toying with the idea of buying a set for mine.

Another little job done today after yesterday’s new brake discs, pads, washer jet and o2 sensor. This time its something thats been flagged at time of MOT for this car the last few times and the petrol filler seal.
Original was pretty degraded, so I found a replacement on eBay and 2 mins later it was swapped over.

No pictures unfortunately, but today I reinstalled my new headlight washer cover.
Sounds simple - is kind of simple, but I found a way to make it a little easier than cutting your large fingers on aperture edge you’re trying to cover on your own :lol:
I used a fabric wrist strap on a tape measure I had. Could use any loop of fabric or string, but essentially its as follows:
1. Loop it down and around the top widest part of the washer jet. Not directly under the hinged diamond frame you’re trying to hook this onto as you’ll snap that off.
2. Gently pull up the washer jet piston (there will be resistance as it works on a vaccum).
3. Remove loop and grasp jet in your hand firmly ( :!: )
4. Fit washer jet cover. Diamond frame pin-in-hole first, then opposite side hook.
5. Realise you can clip it into the hook with enough force and need some long nose pliers, but you’re stuck grasping a washer jet that really wants to go back down behind the bumper. Go back to Step 1.
6. Armed with long nose pliers, gently add pressure to the diamond clip and washer cover hook to ‘snap’ into position.
7. Let go of the washer jet, stand back and marvel at your work.

Guess what. Took my coupe out this morning for a run, delivering food shopping for my elderly mother. When I got home I discovered that BOTH my headlight washer covers had disappeared.

Yes, already decided on that. I also read they are not required to be working for MOT if pre 2009. 
Begun part 1 of the phone holder/charger install today. After deciding to go with a Brodit holder and needing my phone case to contain magnetic metal for ease of use between cars, I’ve swapped to a magnetic USB charge system at home using these from The Last Cable...

Every current charge type covered and the magnetic ends are super powerful. You fit the adaptor for your phone, into the charge port and there it lives - magnetically connecting to the cables you have at home. Wanted a cable in the coupe and integrated somehow, so bought a Fit-2-Car universal adaptor (so if I change phone its all good), and needed to integrate the magnetic charge cable.

The holder has and adjustable ‘foot’ for insertion of any charge cable but it wasn’t big enough for the LastCable I bought - or indeed for a standard USB-C cable, so I broke out the Dremel and made it slightly larger.
Fixed the holder to the Brodit mount and the magnetic LastCable connection is made. Cable has a flexible head, so it should flex with car movement without disconnecting - and its a pretty powerful magnetic force when connected too.
Part 2 of install will be to hardwire the USB port to the fusebox and locate the port/hide the cables up and under the passenger side dash as close to the centre console as possible.

Four new tyres to replace the ageing rubber this coupe came with when I bought it back in November. They were all premium tyres, but had an average age of around 8 years so worth replacing.
Swapped out for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5’s. I’ve had these many times before and get along with them very well, so it was an easy decision (£398 fitted via Tyre-Shopper).
Fly in the ointment was the national tyres place managed to damage the NSF wheel in the process, so I’ve now got to get it refurbished and charge them back. Hassle I don't need but there are far worse things going on in the word, so what are you going to do :lol:
Next jobs include some deep cleaning, test out my new pressure washer with some snow foam, hardwire that USB plug in under the dash and when the weather improves, start playing with the DA polisher and tackle those stone chips.
