A fair price of to do list,as long as mine nearly,with things I want to do to it,lol.

What do you use to dry it,drying towel or a dryer?

If you haven't got one,try having a look at a warm air car dryer. Great way of minimising potential damage/scratches.
Got mine a few years back when we got our Tiguan new,and it's been great for nearly 4 years now.

Used micro fibre cloths to dry off the car. Haven’t heard of the warm air car dryer so I’ll check that out

How did you find the comparison between the z3m coupe and the z4mc?
Z3 us way more if a handful, isn't it?
Rare and expensive now though/still going up in value?

Z4MC you always knew you kind of had under control but would scare you every so often. Confidence inspiring unless at the ragged edge.
Z3MC was easier to drive even though it had less driver aids. Maybe because I knew it didn’t have them I didn’t push as hard. The only traction control it had was me looking at the weather forecast in the morning :lol:
Both felt special but the Z3MC felt more analogue. More raw somehow.

Yeah,that's my own thoughts.
Driven a couple if z4m coupes and my own Roadster I would agree,the z4m's are usually only scary on the edges of their abilities (which ican be reasonably often when in mine,lol).
Yeah,the z4m is raw compared to a Porsche,but only having driven a bright yellow z3mc years ago,I remember it kicked its back end out easier,haha.

Looking sharp

You need to be using a water purifier mate - no drying required, no water spots or streaks, it will change your life :wink:

It does mean letting it dry before polishing or waxing if you want to be completely touch-free. If you use micro-fibre cloths it still shouldn’t streak as the water is so pure.

Think that was the main issue tbh, Al. Ultra hard water.
Didn’t polish or anything today. Just a first shampoo and dry off.

I can sympathise.

The water is hard where I live too - getting my Ruby Black Coupe dry without streaks was a nightmare, although when the light hit it right all the effort seemed worthwhile!

I bought a pet dryer at around £50 and a 5m vacuum ext hose for £12 and changed the ends from the existing hose to fit, does the job fine

I invested in an Autofinesse drying towel, IMO 2nd best option next to purified water

Yeah,the Airvac Master blaster ones are good,but a bit expensive.
I like mine though,does the job for me

Working out of the garage today. End of the day I dug out a bottle of AG Bumper and Trim Gel that I bought ages ago when I had my E30. Amazed at the results quite frankly. Transformed the scuttle plastic and the previously light grey, sun damaged mirror arms are now factory fresh again. Gummy Phfledged (sic) some of the rubbers too.

Also cleaned the MSport steering wheel with a magic eraser, which worked pretty well. After 14 years it needs more work though :lol:

Tomorrow I’m off to get a full oil service and health check at my local Indy.

Just back from the indy I use for full oil service and health check.

Other than an engine light that came on en route (o2 sensor after Cat, bank 1), the need for new brakes, a leaky n/s headlight washer jet and the recognition that my tyres are a little older than ideal (5 years) - everything else on the car is in good condition and checks out. Apparently I've bought a good one

Returned home and did a couple of little jobs: Cleaned the engine bay with some ACF50, then updated the firmware on the nav with a disc i thought was long gone; back from when I owned an MC.

Next up; order those brake parts.

Took the day off today and drove from London to Suffolk for a few hours.

Car gave me a scare when I first started her up as the tick over sounded a little lumpy and the emission engine light was on. Know I have a dodgy O2 sensor (bank 1), so stopped and started for it to sound okay again. Light went off during a quick stop off but its not sounding perfect at times. Pulls fine and no other issues with the engine other than this, so when I get my new discs and pads I may book her in for a new sensor too. I will try and add a video of the noise once I get it off of my phone.

Other that that I do need to sort the leaky passenger side headlight washer. Empties fully and I had a quick look through the inspection hatch but weirdly, no sign of dampness?! Filled the tank with a little water, lights on and tested the washers themselves (tricky to do when you're at the wheel!), and heard them operate but they didn't actually emerge or spray. Just got the noise, so I'm perplexed!

Anyway, here's a nice pic of that rear end on a classic Suffolk C road

Love the Monaco Blue! Haven’t seen too many coupes (or frankly many Z4’s although there a few on here) good to hear the updates and that you are enjoying the car.

My 2005 Monaco blue E85 also lives down south London too.
