I don’t tend to drive at performance friction rates, so they’d be wasted on me

Good job I took it with a head mounted, voice activated GoPro camera, then.

I kinda get the impression you’re more pleased to be behind the wheel in a classic Z4 more than ever - certainly very much how I felt

... yet another roadie who’s gone Coupe

PS, as you appear to be a little flush, like to suggest a little Xmas present for yourself to update the leather trim from this...

Yes Jembo. Happy to be back in a Zed after various ownerships during the past few years. Its actually my second coupe as I owned the Interlagos M coupe way back when, but this is certainly easier/cheaper to live with everyday.

Like that leather console trim. Where’s that from? Considering a wrap of some sort (and maybe matching door cards) but might leave it a while. Quite like how light it is in the cabin with the beige.

Removed the defunct phone prep from my broken centre cubby door today. New standard spec door soon to be ordered.

Also replaced the home-painted matte black grilles with a lovely grey and silver set kindly sourced from Mr Tidy. May respray the old ones for a change back to black whenever the urge takes me.

Your Lego creation made me laught - it's brilliant!

And I'm glad the kidneys finally turned up. I think the grey looks better than black on a Monaco Blue car. Before I went for blakc I had been thinking of splitting mine and painting the slats to match the car (mine was Montego Blue). Just a thought....

Another purchase from Autodoc arrived today. Not had the code or light show up for a while now, but going to replace the sensor anyway.

Started to debadge the coupe today. Always been in two minds about this in the past (mainly due to owning ///M’s which I like badged up), but have to say, it looks really good IMO without.

Dental floss, GT85 on residue, loyalty card scraper and final polish up. You can still see a very slight outline but they will go after some dedicated detailing time.

Side 3.0 si badges next to go

Nice work, and all the motivation i need to start debadging mine! I've been putting it off for ages.

Is it just mine or is the "Z4" badge on the boot very squint? Not sure if mine has been reapplied squint but it does my head in.

Also noticed mine only has the 3.0si badge on one side!! OCD meltdown

Been one of those delivery days today.

Xmas present from the wife has arrived. I have a 5 x speed etched one of these Storm Motorwerks shifters already but of course thats just not going to cut it in the coupe.

If you haven't seen these before, they're a great alternative to the ZHP offering. 500g of solid aluminium to make those gear changes super sweet.

Love that - shame they can’t use the full ///M symbol.

For those wondering if this is worth it, I recently swapped out my Storm, which was on when I got the car nearly 7 years ago, for a ZHP. Fancied a more OEM look. And it does look lovely. But compared to the Storm it is... lacking. And I will be changing it back.

I’d always wondered why people thought the box in an M was notchy as mine simply wasn’t. Now I know why they say that. The Storm is actually about 530g, the ZHP is 140g, and the difference in the feel and ease of the shift is night and day.

My ZHP was £62 which I think is comparable to the Storm from memory. I’d really recommend spending the money on one of them
