Yep Crap :-)

I have been thinking of getting a couple of these... not quite sure how they attach to the carpet though.

Ahh some sort of fastening screw... which probably mean making holes in the carpet?

The floor net is where I keep my emergency vest and insurance docs when I go the Ring (I've also put a couple on the battery box in the boot - but that requires a guide hole as it's hard plastic).

The side pockets are only there to collect dust, or for holing the odd coin.

Ahh they look really small ... are they screwed in then?
They are only about 10" x 5", but still hold more than the glovebox or door pockets.

The little black clips (4 of them) that hold the net are quite chunky and screw into the carpet.

Well I've got a small torch and a charging lead for my phone in my driver's door pocket - so it's full now!

But I managed to acquire another first aid box that I fitted under the driver's seat of my E86 which takes my Garmin - it's the same part as fitted to the E46.

My passenger first aid box has the door missing. Although I have bought an intact one to be fitted. The door "hinge" seems really flimsy, made for infrequent use.

Well given that it is intended for a First Aid kit, infrequent use would be a good thing!

But both of mine are over 10 years old and the front panels are still attached.

Yep I hear you but it's a pity they didn't use a proper slot and pin hinge. The hinge fatigue/stress is clearly visible on the one I have bought.

I may try to fabricate a replacement non moveable lip instead, about 3-4cm high for easy access and stop things rolling out.

I don't think my first aid box has ever been opened, and I can't fit a 2nd one as I had a fire extinguisher mounted on the driver's seat (never used either).

Don't have either now, as the Pole Position seats have a manual slider rail at the front, so both will be mounted in the boot somehow.

Nice that you haven't had to use the fire extinguisher , but is there a use by date on extinguishers?
I haven't looked recently as it's not in the car, but as it's a powder extinguisher you can check that it's still operable by making sure the powder hasn't caked inside by tilting it top to bottom and listening for the powder whooshing from top to bottom.

If it doesn't - and this is what we do with the fire extinguishers at the side of the track when we're marshalling - you tap it with your hand, then kick it with your foot, and then bang it on the ground a bit.

If that doesn't work, then we call Race Control for the fire truck to bring us a replacement.

Although if it's anything like the Tyre Inflation Fluid in the mobility kit, then BMW are supposed to check it's still in date, and if not replace it. Mine went through about 10 BMW main dealer services and not once was I told it was out of date...so make you wonder what other labour-intensive, 'inspection' items they don't bother to inspect (e.g. they didn't spot the rust on my tailgate, despite a body inspection being part of the process).

These seem quite neat and tidy... small though. Instead of the double sided tape maybe use velcro or screws.

Mmm... first attempt too tall and a bit flimsy...

Storage for bits and bobs in the Z4C is very minimalist. The glove compartment can take one glove. In the door pockets I have one small cloth for window wiping. The compartments behind the seats are more useful now that I have fitted seats from an M3 with tilt function.
On the whole though just learn to live without stuff and enjoy the ride.

I actually manage to get good service from those door pockets and the glove box... Drivers side contains: a seatbelt pad (incase the seatbelt starts irritating me on long journeys), a tin of breath mints and 4 x co-op fold-up shopping bags, the Passenger side has: an umbrella and spare shades for my passenger. Glove box has: sunblock, spare shades for me, torch, phone charger and A-Z Road atlas...

But the pouches behind the seats - REALLY???? :headbang: Someone needs to answer for those!!!!

They are terrible

Perfect for sunglasses without need of a case, aux cable, phone charger & Tim of mints. Not sure what else you would need without it being superfluous to any trip you are on. Appreciate I am fairly new to E86 ownership but have to say I love the interior - everything you need and nothing you don’t
