you can get them done so some let air in and others let air out.

GM LS1 (pulled from a C5 Corvette)


The hood scoop is certainly not a "requirement" for my swap. The LS1 is actually smaller (by an inch here and there) than the 2.5i and I can run the factory intake manifold without any problem. I just started tossing the idea around one afternoon.

If you're gonna do it, do it right: go for the AC Schnitzer look... Nice side intakes, but I would leave the bonnet alone, a roadster is supposed to have a long clean hood

The Schnitzer is amazing.... too bad I can do the complete engine swap and supercharge it for what the Schnitzer parts cost...

I'm actually a big fan of the grey MC bonnet pictured. Looks awesome & not too saxo. Have got to agree with the general consensus though. Having said that it's ur car + you can almost guarantee it will be a one off!

I don't like any of the proposals, scoop, louvres, Schnitzer, none. I think it may be possible to design a scoop that works with the lines, but I rather like the idea of an LS swap into a completely stock looking Z4. A real sleeper to surprise the crap out of every full of themselves retromobile driver that thinks their car is the hottest thing around.

You'll need a rear facing camera to capture their expression as you blow their doors off!

+1 for vents over a scoop. The scoop just ruins the lines of the bonnet IMO.

It's funny how some people can't help but do serious, significant modifications. I spent lots of time and effort (and money) trying to get my last car to look more like the style of a Z4. Now that I have a Z4 I really don't have the urge to do any big mods any more (although I still can't help myself doing lots of little mods )...
