alot of car for 6k for sure!!
I know yeah ig picked it up at a decent price so should make money on it really. I've seen some standard mv2 18" bmw alloys on ebay for £175 I might get them and sell my black 19" beyerns separate was nearly £2000 last year.
What are the wheels like Goldi? I'm looking to refurb mine or something different. Not sure about the black though against the grey. Do 19s add a lot of weight.

sold them yesterday for £600 I just needed the space really they cost a lot if you look online at rimstyle. Beyern only make alloys for bmws so are very expensive.

I've put some standard bmw alloys back on now look nice and I got them for £150 with Michelins and Dunlop tyres ready to sell the car now like this

that looks ace wit those wheels, they work really well... but damn that car is low, i think you'll get more interest if you raise it slightly tbh buddy..

Yeah the wheel work well 5 spoke style with splits and concave reminds of that 6 or 7 series alloy ive seen used on z4. This was how I bought it, lowered on KW springs I have original springs last owner gave me so the new buyer can raise it themselves if they want.

Well done. I wasn't sure what to get, as I was also thinking of csl's.
I've ended up refurbing my original 108's and they've come out great. Only regret I didn't buy new screws. Picking up the car tomorrow. Can't wait.
Cheers. Those you've put on look good also.

Whilst I like the E46 3 series Msport wheels i'm not convinced its a forward move in regards getting a sale .
Dropping to 17s with the lowered stance makes the wheels appear undersized on the car

I've never known any of my bmw's to loose so much money so quickly ive only owned it 6 months. I dont think its a reflection on the cars worth just more the fact there aint as many potential buyers as maybe 1.3.5 series etc. That means there's loads about to choose from all with relative low miles below 90k too. Id happily take £4000 for it looking at the market now I think i overpriced it previously going on what I paid. I'm glad I took my 19" £2000 alloys off and not sold them with it. I'm might end up trading it possibly

Seen one sell for £3800 earlier and had 5k miles less than mine too so its not looking good price wise it hought they would go up at summer not come down In price

Re the drop in z values Mr G , , I think you've just been unlucky with timings as they have been pretty steady for years
This year may be a blip ? Time will tell

Mines a 2003 so its pushing on 14 years old plus there's a lot more E85 about than any other Z4 models making them even more cheaper and easier to haggle price down. The thing that annoys me is I actually didn't go for a really cheap one at the time and paid a bit more. When I should of took my chances on a cheaper one really never mind. I really didn't think about resale at the time as all my other bmw's sold to 1st viewers so thought selling the Z4 would be just as easy. Looking at the market now I'm set to loose £1000 in 6 months just owning this car. On comparison I kept my E46 330ci convertible 5 years and sold it for £1000 less after all that time. Funniest thing is if I wanted to buy another decent E46 now it would cost same as what I sold it 2yrs ago. So maybe the Z4 are now in the stage the E36 and e46 went through years ago when no one really wanted them so prices fell. Try find a decent E30,E36 now for less than £5000 there all rising slowly maybe same will happen one day with z4 I think the next 2-3 years though will see a lot of good bargains shame they lack real quality like my other bmw's or id of kept it longer.

I've had mine 4 years, paid £6500. If I got half that now, I'd be happy. I see that as cheap motoring.

My other car costs me £225 a month, so if you compare the 2, it's a no brainer which one is better value.

Yeah luckily I sold my 330ci at the right time paid £6500 sold it for £5500 almost 5 years later but it was 1 previous owners maybe that helped. I then picked another one up for £1500 needed new brake shoes and abs sensor and banked they rest of cash had left then sold that one for £2500 11 months later. This will be the most I've lost in such a short space of time

If yours was £6500 that still just under £1000 per year then on the z4 and that's if you sell at the price you had in mind it maybe less. I can honestly say ive owned 6 bmw's whilst this Z4 has been the quickest, most fun and cheapest to run on fuel its deffinatley has the less amount of luxury almost feels built on the cheap when I work on it

Ive been after a 645i since I sold my 330ci all them years ago and seen similar prices you can get good ones under £7000 but ive now realised with selling this Z4 maybe the reason 645i are so cheap too is the limited buyers who want them like the Z4 market which then makes them hard to sell and prices are reduced,

Unfortunately your loss in six months is a reflection of the cars worth, what other criteria is there other than what someone is prepared to pay?

my car suddenly decided to get a week full of problems before selling the timing couldn't have been any worse

1st. The window wiper stops working because the mechanism arm had come off its ball joint to link .After seeing the cost of a E85 used part £130 i gave that a miss. I used my skills and just stuck a washer on top of ball joint and welded it back together. It's never coming loose again job all done 2hrs later after messing around.

2nd. Day after my daughter slams the passenger door and my window starts scraping and dropping at funny angle when lowered. The metal bracket guide had come loose luckily I found the screw and part sat inside the door card unattached. All fixed now after 2hrs of more messing about with my big hands in small spaces.

3rd 2 days later my handle for my glove box then breaks. New lock and handle £70+

4th. On the day of buyer viewing the car the headlamp decides to throws up a bulb out error. I changed the bulb and still no function so electric fault somewhere very annoying to say the least as ive had the car 6 months with no issues

5th. lost my service book school boy error before sale had to pay my local bmw sytner for another

Oh well it sold anyway and just like all my 4 previous bmw's to the 1st viewer all though it didn't look very good from me as a selling point. Managed to bag another great deal on a E46 with only 70k miles ,personal registration plate, satnav,dvd.Bluetooth,Mp3,cruise control, heated seats, Bi-Xenon front lights, LED rear lights (basically all the things my Z4 never had apart from soft top roof) and still have over £1000 change from my z4 sale. Z4 is a good car but the E46 is a great car. I will buy another Z4 possibly E89 next its been fun anyway until we meet again....BYE

The irony is sweet fella as its the mrs who's going to have the convertible in the family now. Were just looking for a decent E46 convertible to replace her VW golf to sit alongside my coupe.......funny thing was I thought I was abit of a E46 enthusiast until I spoke with the guy who bought my Z4. Its was his 3rd Z4 and had 5 E46 before. After talking about the many bmw's he'd owned over the years he even said a E46 330ci is the best option great cars and you never really loose money on them. He's only using the z4 for 6 months and selling in winter seemed to know his cars being in trade at evans halshaw

anyway thanks for viewing my thread its been fun

Why would you buy a convertible at the height of summer to sell in the winter? That makes zero sense.

That's exactly what I thought it was his 3rd Z4 so I wasn't to argue he seemed clued up and had lots of previous bmw only selling his 645i last week. In all fairness though he said it was just for summer fun so he could be right. I paid £5000 for it in January and sold it for £4150 so I nearly lost £1000 in 6 months if I'd of waited had another 6 months fun then sold in winter Id still get same price I think. There wasn't much choice for 3.0i in winter I waited from November to January to find this manual one as most were autos. You would think prices go up at summer but could infact be reverse as many then bring them out the garage from winter storage ready to sell for spring/summer meaning theres more on the market pushing the values down. There was a few selling at £3800 with similar mileage too so I just took the money he offered

I lost £4k on a 330Ci, unlucky enough to buy before petrol really went up and then sold after when nobody wanted one. Now they have hit the bottom you shouldn't have that problem. I still think the N52 is a better engine than the M54 having had both. Looks in good condition but I was surprised to see you buy a coupe after all that was said!

Strange that the z4's in the UK are plummeting.
On the mainland, a sub 100k miles 3.0i in decent nick will always fetch £7,5k and in the netherlands about 9k (and thats the starting point)
2nd hand cars (and especially roadsters) are cheap in the UK, but unsellable abroad due to the steering.
Maybe thats the reason.

Bet his other trick is buying 4x4 in winter & selling it in summer
Ive had 3 x E85s & in between had a 330Ci , sorry but unless you need the 4 seats they just aren't in the game as a roof down motor to enjoy in the lanes , far too numb , serious scuttle shake & virtually impossible to find one without rust problems around front wings + cills
Nice set of shoes on your new motor though :driving: don't do what you did with your Z , just read your wheel post & each move from the first set was backward :(
