We’ve had a z4 for about 15 years and love it. It’s my wife’s car really but I drive it quite a bit. Never got rid of it because it’s aged really well and still drives lovely. Recently got a Porsche 911 turbo and at the moment I think the Z4 drives nicer. The Porsche is very slightly lumpy on tickover, has way too much power, things like the indicators are clunky and a few other little niggles that I wasn’t expecting with a premium car. Everything about the Z4 is really nice. It’s super smooth and the power comes in very nicely and has a decent amount of it. It handles really well. They are amazing cars and so cheap for what you get. I’ve wanted a Porsche for quite a while but the grass isn’t always greener!

My client bought a 2012 Turbo S in 2013 at the same time I had my Z4.

Imo the Porsche was phenomenal in it's power delivery, turn in and braking. Everything felt instant and was an experience to drive. The Z4 was nothing in comparison. Maybe the Porsche hasn't aged well?

The Turbo S was sold quite a few years ago now but there is still a 1989 Porsche 911 Supersport. It has the turbo body but without the turbo. Only 30,000 miles on the clock and is still like new. Even the Supersport is still a premium package compared to the Z4. It drives better, has similar power and the build quality has stood the test of time. Maybe they don't make them like they used to?

I still look back fondly at the times I drove that Turbo S and I haven't experienced anything since with an all round package as good as that.
