I've always thought the M135i seats would work well in the E85:
Regarding fully electric seats, you can trick them into working which I did on my E89 seats in the E85. However I am quite positive that an electric switch board from an E85 could be wired in to work with modern seats. Modern seat switches are essentially dumb but connect to an external computer under the seat whereas the E85 has the computer as part of the switch.
After successfully fitting E89 M-Sports in my Z4 I am now looking at other options which may fit to help others.
If anyone has an F40 1 series please could you measure the bolt hole spacings.
