Dyno Run Result for my Z4M Roadster....

Well that's the reason for the post. If people think its worth the money I'd get the re-map.

However a lot of people believe (including the place that did the dyno) that 320bhp is the normal output for the engine and that 338bhp is unlikely.

56,000 miles on the clock, 15 months since last service (which was INSP II) but I didn't get the tappets aligned as they were 'within tolerance' said my specialist.

Perhaps an oil change and some cold weather would account for the other 19-20bhp........

More than likely, I've always been interested in a Z4 only rolling road day to get a more accurate picture

Well it probably would. The ECU is set up to with the OEM exhaust a better flowing exhaust could give 5-6hp gain possibly if mapped. A good service and a map would certainly get you closer I think. 56k shouldnt really be an issue if anything the engine is well run in now should be performing well.

NA engines dont respond well to mapping but with a different exhaust, ram air scoop and air intake and remap possible maybe to get 10hp. Should be getting at least 330 at the wheels standard.

You won't get the best out of the Z4M on a rolling road - the ram air system requires the vehicle to be moving

I didn't think a front facing fan (albeit a huge fan!) would provide what the car needed to dyno optimal BHP. Vortex/aerodynamics/magic/whichcraft means the induction comes up from the bottom?

It is plenty fast enough but you know... more never hurts... uh oh... the dreaded RPI scoop conversation is lurking a comments up. I've heard it does not a lot?

I made my own carbon fibre scoop, which does nothing on it's own, but coupled with some other modifications (see the 2 other threads kicking about) it's well worth doing

There's the 16 page thread with the exdos chap claiming his string of mods makes lots more juicy power and come 2024 when he's ready to release it we'll be able to buy the patented system......... (useful!)

I had a drag race at those lights a few years ago in my old 225bhp Audi TT coupe. The other guy was in a Mark I Triumph GT6 - I don't know what he had under the bonnet, but he absolutely destroyed me!

911 would be a graet choice. I love the look of the Coupes but I (personally) don't like the convertibles at all, they just look wrong to me.

The M Convertible though......... perfect

And then you'd need 2 equal drivers.......

If you feel your cars running sound, regularly serviced with no problems then I wouldn't worry. At the end of the day all these garages say their dyno's are spot on. But are they?
